¡Felicitaciones!
You have been selected to produce the school play, La Oruga Muy Hambrienta, at Elkridge Landing Elementary School! As the producer, you are responsible for organizing the events of the play and supplying the director with a written sequence of events. Please read the directions carefully and complete each of the assigned tasks. ¡Buena suerte!
I. Decidir: Carefully read the following sentences. Then look through the pictures in the envelope and match each picture to its correct sentence. After you check to make sure the sequence of pictures is correct, glue each picture in the empty box.
Primero Hay un huevecillo en la hoja verde.
El domingo Del huevo sale una oruga.
El lunes La oruga come una manzana.
El martes La oruga come dos peras.
El miércoles
La oruga come tres ciruelas.
El jueves La oruga come cuatro fresas.
El viernes La oruga come cinco naranjas.
El sábado La oruga come mucha comida. Tiene dolor de estómago.
El domingo La oruga come una hermosa hoja bien verde.
Ahora La oruga es muy grande y gorda.
Luego La oruga hace un capullo (una casita).
Por último La oruga se hace una bellísma mariposa.

Escribir: Now that you have decided on the order of events, you need to write the director a summary. Use the information in your organizer to write 12 sentences in Spanish describing the order of scenes in the play. To make your summary easier to follow, use the list of transition words provided on the “transition ladder.”

III. Hablar: Now it’s time to sit down with your producing team to share your outline of events. Take turns reading aloud each of your sentences from part II to your team. For example, each member will take a turn reading number one. After listening to all of the number one sentences and reaching a consensus, the team can move on to reading aloud sentence number two. Continue until all of the sentences have been shared. As you hear your team share, listen carefully for any new words and/or ideas. When you hear a new word or idea you like, write it down on your paper. As a team, you need to reach a consensus on the order of events and what happens in each event. You may use the expressions in the box below to help you express your opinions. Remember to be polite and respectful when hearing others’ ideas. Be prepared to share. The club advisor, la señora Sharbaugh, will be circulating to assess your dialogue. ¡Buena suerte! ¡Habla español!
Yo estoy de acuerdo. Yo no estoy de acuerdo. Yo no estoy seguro. En mi opinion, es… Es correcto. No es correcto. ¡Muy bien! ¡Fantástico! ¡Una frase excelente! ¡Cuidado! ¡Gracias! ¡De nada!
