Bedrock geology at the Nine' MiIe Pllace site i s conipiised of mphibolitc, schist, and breccia of thc Anarchist Group (Rock Glen Consulting, 2003). Wfic id deposits on the Regal Ridgc sitc include a mix of colluvium, gIaciofluvi.al deposits, and glacial till.

A search Qf the' B.C. groundwatcr wcll database was completed in June 2004. Thc database indjcates that thcrc arc thrce registered, wells' in the genera1 Anarchist mountain area, All are drilled through unconsblidatd deposits into bedrock, and the reported yields range between 4.6 and 32 Umin (6,620 Uday and 46,080 Uday). The rcgiond iroundwater supply report prepared by Rock Glen Consulting' Ltd. (2003) concluded that the local aquifer at the Regal Ridge development has an adequate capacity to supply the averagc usc volumes for the entire proposed dcvelopment of 300 to 400 residential lots.

' ' All fivc of the wells were drilled by Kelly's Watcr Well Drilling (2504464628). The wclls arc drilled and csed.with 0.15 m (6") diameter steel to below the depth of the.ovcrburden-bedrock cbntact. The' will heads dl extend above the ground by abbout 0.6 rn and can bc re-sealed. Well depths and the depth.to bedrock are provided in Tablc 1. All of rhe,wclI sites are located within about 500 m of Njne Mile Creek.

24-hour Pump Text Resulis Mr. Daniel BiIodeau performed the pump tests on thc wells between May 4 and May 13,2004. Flow rates were measured using ri calibrated pail iind stopwatch, and water depths in thc wdls were measured using 3 well sounder. The total volume of watcr that is required by'the current bylaw is 2,300 Uday (equal to a constant rate of 1.60 Umin over 24 liours)". Mr. Erickson elected to have the tests c6nductccl at rates somewhat higher than that spccificd in the bylaiv to better assess watcr supply (at least 2.3 Uniin; see Appendices 1 to 5).

The 'Wdls were tested by pumping at 20.5 Umin for 60 minutes and then at a rate q u a l to or greater than 2.3 Urnin for the remainder of the 24-hour period (Appendices 1: to 5). Well rccovery was then monitored for 60 minutes and then ri-c'hecked about 24 hours aftcr the end of the'test. The drawdown and recovery data (Appendices 1 to 5 ) for the wells,are attached, and a summary is provided in Table 1. Figures 1 to 5 show' the changes in water level over the coursc of Lhe tests, including the iecovcry pcriod.

The water level in the wells in Lots #1, #3;'#4, and t 5 were'dl apparently close to equilibrium after 24 hours, but the level in Lot #2 was still trending slighily downwards (Figure 2>. However, Well #2 experienccd very little dxiwdows cvcn when pumped at 20.5 Umin for the first hour (see below) and the volume of wciter that flowed inti the well during the test.(4,404 L) was very close to the ioltime that was pumped out (4,425 L).' Also, th i pumping ratc during the last 23 hours of the test (2.3 Umin) was higher than thc by,law rate (1.6 Urnin). These ' factors' suggcSt bat the by-law rate can be maintained in' the' well on Lot #2 undcr n o m 4 patterns of househo1.d use (i.e. ncgli~ible water use during the night, which allows the well. to recharge). Nevertheless, water conservation measures are recommendcd (see below),
