ENSwitching the appliance on and offYouareadvisedtocleantheappliancebeforeswitchingitonforthefirsttime(see"Cleaning").Donotloadwithfrozenfooduntilthetemperatureshowsatleast-18°C.Therefrigeratorandfreezercompartmentscanbeoper-atedseparately.

Switching off: Keep theOn/Off icons pressed for approx. 3seconds.

Temperature display Innormaloperation,thefollowingsettingswillbedisplayed:- theaveragerefrigeratortemperatureand- thewarmestfrozenfoodtemperature.Whenstartingupforthefirsttimeorwhentheapplianceiswarm,dasheswillappearuntilthetemperaturereachesalevelthatcanbedisplayed(below0°Cinthefreezer).Thedisplaywillflash:-ifyouchangethetemperatureor-if the temperature rises by several degrees, indicating coldloss,e.g.ifyouplacefresh,"warm"foodinthefreezerorifyouremoveorre-packfrozenfoodthetemperaturemayriseforashorttimeduetowarmairflowingintothefreezer.

IfF1 toF5 appears in the display, the appliance has a fault.Consult the customer service department indicating the faultnumberdisplayed.

Switching on:TouchtheOn/Off icons(onleftfor refrigerator,on right for freezer)so that thetemperaturedisplayslightuporflash.

Setting the temperatureTheapplianceispre-setfornormaloperation.Werecommendtemperaturesof+5°Cintherefrigeratorand-18°Cinthefreezer.

To reduce the temperature: Touch theDown icon;on left for refrigeratorandonrightforfreezer.To increase the temperature:TouchtheUpicon.

- Whileyouareenteringthetemperature, theset temperaturewillflashonthedisplay.

- Whenyoutouchthetemperaturesettingiconsforthefirsttime,themostrecentsetting("referencesetting")isdisplayed.

- Youcanchange thesettings in incrementsof1°Cbybrieflytouchingtheiconsagain.Iftheiconsareheld,thetemperaturesettingwillchangefaster.

- Approximately5secondsafterthelasttouch,thedisplaywillautomaticallyshowtheactualfreezingorcoolingtemperature("actualsetting").

- Youcanchangethetemperatures intherefrigerator:between9°Cand3°Cand inthefreezer:between-14°Cand-28°C.

Installing the water filter

1. Removethecoverofthefiltersocket.

2. Insert the filterand turn it 90°clockwise.

Turn the filter 90° anticlockwiseandremove.

Power failure/FrostControl displayIfthe LEDcomesononthecontrolpanel,thismeansthatthefreezertemperaturehasrisentoohighduringthelastfewhoursordaysduetoapowerfailure.

IfyoutouchtheALARMiconnow,thehighesttemperatureregisteredduringthepowerfailurewillbedisplayed.

Checkthequalityofthefoodanditssuitabilityforconsumptionincaseithasbecometoowarmorevendefrosted.

Thehighesttemperaturewillappearforappox.1minute.Afterthat,theactualtemperatureinthefreezerwillre-appear.

ThedisplaycanbeswitchedoffbytouchingtheALARMicon.

Audible warning signal Theapplianceisequippedwithanalarmfunction.

Audible door alarmIfanappliancedoorisleftopenformorethan60seconds,theaudiblewarningsignalwillsound.TouchtheALARM icon to cancel the alarm. The alarm switches back tostandbywhenthedoorisshut.

Audible/visual temperature alarmItsoundswhenitisnotcoldenoughinthefreezercompartment.Thetemperaturedisplayandthe LEDwillalsoflash.

This can be caused by:• thefreezerdoorbeingleftopenforalongtime,allowingwarmambientairtoenter;

• alongpowerfailure;• afaultintheappliance.Ineachcase,makesurefoodhasnotthawedorperished.

SuperCool TouchingtheSuperCooliconswitchestherefrigeratorcompart-menttomaximumcooling.Itisrecommendedparticularlyifyouwishtocoollargequantitiesoffood,drinks,freshlybakedgoodsormealsrapidly.

Repositioning the shelves1. Holdtheshelfunderneathwithyourhandtopreventfrom tipping down back-wardswhenremoving.

2. Lifttheshelfatthefront.3. Pulltheshelftowardsyouuntil the round cutout oftheshelfisinlinewiththeinteriorlightcover.

4. Lifttheshelfupandreplaceinthedesiredposition.

Removing the shelves1. Followthefirstthreestepsinthechapterabove.

2. Movetheshelfdownandstopjustoverthevegetabledrawer.

3. Move the front of the shelfupwards until the shelf is in averticalposition.

4. Turn the shelf by 90° and re-move.

Caution - class 1M laser radiation. When cover is removed, do not look directly at light through optical instruments. Severe eye injury can occur.

Thelightswitchesoffautomaticallyifoneofthedoorsorafreezerdrawerhasbeenleftopenformorethan15minutes.Theaudiblewarningsignalsoundsatthesametime.

Freezer compartment description Both drawers can be used for freezing of food or storage offrozenfood.Theicecubebinintheupperdrawerisintendedforicecubesonly.Ifyouneedthewholeupperdrawerforfreezingorstorage,theicecubebincanberemoved.Important:Theicemakerwillnotejecttheicecubesofitstrayifthebinhasbeenremoved.

BioFresh compartmentTheBioFreshcompartmentenablesyoutokeepfoodforupto3timeslongerthaninnormalrefrigerators.Theconstanttemperatureofjustabove0°Candtheadjustablehumidityprovidetheidealstorageconditionsfordifferenttypesoffood.

TheBioFreshcompartmentsatisfiestherequirementsofachillcompartmenttoENISO15502.

Notes• The humidity in the compartment depends on themoisturecontentofthefoodinit,andthefrequencywithwhichthecom-partmentisopened.

• Thefreshertheproductandthehigheritsquality,thelongeritwillkeep.

Ice maker

Safety instructions and warnings• The icemaker isdesignedexclusively tomake icecubes inquantitiesrequiredbyahouseholdandmayonlybeoperatedwithwatersuitableforthispurpose.

•The first three batches of ice must not be consumed or used. This applies both to using the appliance for the first time and also to using it after it has not been used for a lengthy period of time. This ensures that the water supply is purged.

•The manufacturer cannot accept liability for damage caused by a faulty connection to the mains water supply.

• Theicemakerwillonlyworkifthecombinedrefrigerator-freezerisconnectedtotheelectricitysupply.Itwillonlymakeicecubesifthefreezercompartmentisoperating.

• Ensure that thedrawer is fullyclosed,as the icemakercanotherwisenotproduceicecubes.

Notes on freezing• Alwaysstoreidenticalfooditemstogether.• Packfoodwhichyouarefreezingyourselfinquantitiesappro-priatetoyourhousehold.Toensurethatthefoodfreezesrightthrough,thefollowingquantitiesshouldnotbeexceededperpackage:fruit,vegetables:upto1kg,meat:upto2.5kg.

• Packfrozenfoodinstandardfreezerbagsorreuseableplastic,metaloraluminiumcontainers.

•Donotallowfreshfoodwhichistobefrozentocomeintocon-tactwithfoodalreadyfrozen.Alwayskeeppacksdryinordertoavoidthemstickingtogether.

• Alwayswrite thedateandcontentson thepackanddonotexceedthestatedstoragetimeforthefood.

•Donotfreezebottlesandcanswhichcontaincarbonateddrinksastheymightburst.

•Only take out as much food as is immediately required forthawing.Usefoodwhichhasbeenthawedinpreparedmealsasquicklyaspossible.

Frozen food can be thawed in the following ways:–inafanoven,–inamicrowaveoven,–atroomtemperature,–intherefrigerator:thecoldgivenoffbythefrozenfoodisusedforcooling.

Bleeding the ice makerToensurethat the icemakerworksproperly, thewatersupplylinemustbebled.

• TouchtheIceMaker icon sothattheIceMaker LED comeson.

•Openthetopfreezerdrawer.

• PresstheON/OFFbuttonontheicemaker housing for approx. 3 sec-onds. The LED above the buttonstartsflashing.

• Pressthebuttonagainbriefly.TheLEDflashesmorequickly.

•Closethefreezerdrawerimmediately.Thewatersupplyvalveopensfor25secondsandpumpsalltheairoutofthewatersupplysystem.

• Then the icecube trayof the icemakermustbecompletelyemptied.SeethesectionActivating the ice maker vacation state.

• Finally,cleantheicecubebin.

Freezing with SuperFrost

Touch the SuperFrost icon briefly so that the LEDcomeson.

• ForsmallamountsoffrozenfoodswitchonSuperFrost6hoursbeforehand.Forthemaximumamount(seefreezingcapacityonthetypeplate)youwillneedtoswitchiton24hoursbeforehand.

• Thenplacethefreshfoodinsidethefreezer.

- TheSuperFrostfunctionswitchesoff automatically.Dependingonthequantityoffoodplacedinthefreezer,thiswillnormallybebetween30andmax.65hours.Thefreezingprocessisnowcomplete,theSuperFrost LED will go out.

You should not switch on the SuperFrost func tion:- whenplacingfrozenfoodinthefreezer;- whenfreezinguptoapprox.2kgfreshfooddaily.

• TouchtheIceMaker icon sothattheIceMaker LED comeson.Afteryoustarttheicemakerforthefirsttime,itmaytakeupto24hoursbeforethefirsticecubesareready.Theproductioncapacitydependsonthetemperatureinsidethefreezercompartment.Thelowerthetemperature,themoreicecubescanbeproducedoveraperiodoftime.Theicecubesfalloutoftheicemakerintotheicecubebin.Whenthe ice reachesacertain level in thebin, theappliancestopsproducingiceautomatically.

Switching the ice maker offIfyoudonotneedanyicecubes,theicemakercanbeswitchedoffindependentlyofthefreezercompartment.

• TouchtheIceMaker icon sothattheIceMaker LED goesout.

Bysettingtheicemakerintothevacationstate,thetraywillrotate down and no waterremainsinthetray.

Thefreezerdrawermustbeleftopensothatthesurfaceofthetraydriesupandnomouldorunpleasantodourscanoccur.

- Donotuseabrasivespongesorscourers,donotuseconcen-tratedcleaningagentsandneverusecleaningagentscontain-ingsand,chlorideoracidorchemicalsolvents,asthesewoulddamagethesurfacesandcouldcausecorrosion.
