Ice maker

Safety instructions and warnings• The icemaker isdesignedexclusively tomake icecubes inquantitiesrequiredbyahouseholdandmayonlybeoperatedwithwatersuitableforthispurpose.

• Allrepairsandworkontheicemakermayonlybecarriedoutbycustomerservicepersonnelorothertrainedpersonnel.

•The first three batches of ice must not be consumed or used. This applies both to using the appliance for the first time and also to using it after it has not been used for a lengthy period of time. This ensures that the water supply is purged.

• Then the icecube trayof the icemakermustbecompletelyemptied.SeethesectionActivating the ice maker vacation state.

• Finally,cleantheicecubebin.

Freezing with SuperFrost

Touch the SuperFrost icon briefly so that the LEDcomeson.

• ForsmallamountsoffrozenfoodswitchonSuperFrost6hoursbeforehand.Forthemaximumamount(seefreezingcapacityonthetypeplate)youwillneedtoswitchiton24hoursbeforehand.

• Thenplacethefreshfoodinsidethefreezer.

- TheSuperFrostfunctionswitchesoff automatically.Dependingonthequantityoffoodplacedinthefreezer,thiswillnormallybebetween30andmax.65hours.Thefreezingprocessisnowcomplete,theSuperFrost LED will go out.

You should not switch on the SuperFrost func tion:- whenplacingfrozenfoodinthefreezer;- whenfreezinguptoapprox.2kgfreshfooddaily.

ENSwitching the ice maker on

• TouchtheIceMaker icon sothattheIceMaker LED comeson.Afteryoustarttheicemakerforthefirsttime,itmaytakeupto24hoursbeforethefirsticecubesareready.Theproductioncapacitydependsonthetemperatureinsidethefreezercompartment.Thelowerthetemperature,themoreicecubescanbeproducedoveraperiodoftime.Theicecubesfalloutoftheicemakerintotheicecubebin.Whenthe ice reachesacertain level in thebin, theappliancestopsproducingiceautomatically.

Switching the ice maker offIfyoudonotneedanyicecubes,theicemakercanbeswitchedoffindependentlyofthefreezercompartment.

• TouchtheIceMaker icon sothattheIceMaker LED goesout.

The ice maker can also beswitchedonandoffusingtheON/OFFbuttonattheicemakerhousing.Press the button for approxi-mately1second.

CleaningBefore cleaning always switch off the appliance. Pull out the mains plug or switch off or unscrew the fuse.

Do not use steam cleaners because of the risk of injury and damage. • Ensure that no cleaningwater penetrates into the electricalcomponentsorventilationgrille.

•Dryallpartswellwithacloth.

•Donotdamageorremovethetypeplateontheinsideoftheappliance.Itisveryimportantforservicingpurposes.

•Useacommerciallyavailablestainless-steelcleaningagentforstainless-steel appliances.

- Inordertoachievebestpossibleprotection,applyastainless-steelcareagentuniformlyingrindingdirectionaftercleaning.Pointswhicharedarkeratthestartandamoreintensivecolora-tionofthestainless-steelsurfacearenormal.

- Donotuseabrasivespongesorscourers,donotuseconcen-tratedcleaningagentsandneverusecleaningagentscontain-ingsand,chlorideoracidorchemicalsolvents,asthesewoulddamagethesurfacesandcouldcausecorrosion.

4. Pushdownthebuttononthefilter,tiltthefilterforwardsandremove.

Thedustfiltercanbewashedinadish-washerorbyhandusingwateranddetergent.

Cleaning the dust filter1. Disconnect the appliance from the mains.

2. Pullthebottomfreezerdrawerrightout.

3. Remove the ventilationgrille bypullingforwards.

5. Drythefilterandthen,inreverseorder,replaceit.

6. Re-attachtheventilationgrille.

7. CancelthedustfilterLED inthedisplay.SeeSetup mode, =Confirmdustfiltercleaning.

DefrostingRefrigerator compartmentTherefrigeratorcompartmentdefrostsautomatically.Thewaterthatformsontherearwalldrainsintoareservoiratthebackoftheapplianceandevaporatesautomatically through thecom-pressorheat.

Freezer compartmentTheNoFrostsystemautomaticallydefroststheappliance.Anymoisturearisingcollectsontheevaporatorandfreezes,andisperiodicallydefrostedandevaporated.

•Thetemperatureisnotlowenough:–Isthetemperaturesettingcorrect(see"Settingthetempera-ture")?

–Does theseparately installed thermometershowthecorrectreading?

–Istheventilationsystemworkingproperly?–Is the dust filter in the appliance plinth soiled?See sectionentitled"Cleaning the dust filter".

–Istheappliancesetuptooclosetoaheatsource?

If none of the above causesapply and you cannot rec-tify thefaultyourself,contactthe nearest customer ser-vice department stating thetype designation1, servicenumber 2and appliancenumber3asindicatedonthetypeplate.
