Welcome to the 2015 Ogden Surgical-Medical Society’s 70th annual conference, “Primary and Specialty Care Medicine, Procedural Medicine, Past, Present, and Future 2015,” a 3.5-day conference which will introduce you to National, Regional, and Local Leading Experts on procedural medicine throughout all of the surgical subspecialties and also other procedural specialties including pulmonology, gastroenterology, interventional radiology, and nephrology. Provided will be expertise in procedural medicine as well as a historical prospective on its development. Bringing you a world-class event, this conference provides a highly informative and educational experience of interest to all practitioners; we are proud to be the longest serving medical conference (which has rich history dating back to 1946) in the western United States, providing excellent CME at an affordable cost. We also precede the most coveted marathon in Utah, the Ogden Marathon. Our conference offers health providers a practical educational choice of opportunities to hone medical knowledge, competence, performance, and skills. Tuesday night begins with pre-registration and a social followed by CME with Updates on legislature affecting health providers and the Status of American Medicine. Each morning begins with the popular, time-honored, conference-high-point, thirty-minute sessions of What’s New in My Specialty where a number of regional experts will discuss some of the nuances relating to their specialties. After this session, continues one-hour sessions, mid-morning and afternoon, including the National Kidney Foundation of Utah and Idaho lectures. Noon Lunch Lectures are another conference highlight of interest medically, sociologically, and intellectually to all. This year we are delighted to feature Key Note Speakers Sonia Shah, author of The Fever: How Malaria Has Ruled Humankind for 500,000 Years; John Tayman, author of The Colony, who will present a lecture on The Harrowing True Story of the Leper Colony of Molokai; and John L. Cameron, MD, former Chief of Surgery at John Hopkins Hospital, who personally performed 2,000 Whipple procedures and will present Pancreatic Surgery: Past, Present, and Future. His son, John Hopkins Surgical Director of Liver Transplantation, Andrew Cameron, MD, will present Liver Transplantation: 50 Years of Success & Current Controversies. Additionally, you will have the options in the afternoon to sign-up for small group sessions instead of attending the main lectures. These will be hands-on performance skills labs including Newborn Exams, Parking Lot “Delivery of Babies, and The Care of Difficult Wounds. There will also be demonstrations of acupuncture and osteopathic manipulation. To top off the event, we enjoy FREE Evening Social Events again this year. ParkingFREE Parking is available at the Junction garage at 24th Street & Grant. It is recommended attendees park in the far southeast corner closest to the conference center. Daytime street parking is limited to two hours and is strictly monitored and ticketed. Hampton Inn guests receive garage parking passes.

PARKING GARAGE: Enter on Kiesel Ave. between 24th & 25th Streets where there are two entrances. The attendant parking has a gated entrance. Attendees will be charge $5 for entry (cash or charge). Once the garage is full, the attendant will direct parking to the Self-Pay Honor Lot. The attendant will collect the $5 and give the guest a voucher that must be placed in the payment box that matches their numbered parking spot. Guests must put money or the voucher from the attendant into the slot that matches their numbered parking spot. Conference organizers do not have control of the honor lot. The parking management company will ticket anyone who fails to provide payment or a voucher in the pay box.
