Pastor’s Notes: This coming Friday will mark the 238 th birthday of the freedom of our country. Fifty six men signed the Declaration of Independence. But declaring our freedom was only part of it. John Adams wrote his wife and told her that he was aware that “toil and blood and treasures it will cost to maintain this declaration”. John Adams was right. Five of the signers were captures and tortured before their deaths. Twelve had their homes ransacked and burned. Two lost sons in battles. Nine fought and died from wounds received. Many were wealthy farmers, lawyers or businessmen, yet the majority of the founding fathers wound up bankrupt and destitute. Independence cost them everything. I, for one, am thankful for the great price that these men and their families paid so that we could be a free nation. How much are we willing to pay to remain free? The least we can do as Christians is to continue to pray for this country and her leaders. Whether we agree with their policy or the handling of this lands affairs, they are still our leaders and we need to pray for them. So this Friday, July 4 th , please take time to be thankful for your freedom and to pray that God would continue to bless us with freedom. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!!!! Sunday night, I told you 3 things that we could be confident in: 1) Confident that God cares the measure of God’s caring is not how free you are from troubles & trials. The measure of God’s caring is in what He has said in His Word. “Cast all your care upon Him for HE CARES FOR YOU!” That settles it!!!! 2) Confident that God is in control – If he can speak the world into existence and put all the planets and stars in place without them crashing into each other….don’t you know that God will take care of you and is able to control the affairs and issues of your life? 3) Confident that Christ is coming again Once more, the measure of truth is based on what He said. John 14:3 If I go and prepare a place for you, I WILL COME AGAIN, and receive you unto myself that where I am, there ye may be also. Whatever you do or whatever you face, do not forget that you can have confidence in our great God! FINAL CALL!!!!!!!!!!! - I am still looking for 1 or 2 people willing to work the Community Clothes Closet on July 19 th . This is a Saturday and the time is from 9-1. We, as a church, have been a part of working the Clothes Closet 1 month out of the year for many years now. What an awesome opportunity for our church to be involved in the community and to meet people who may need the love of Jesus. The great thing about working the Clothes Closet is that you have the opportunity to promote Jesus and to promote your church. I still believe this is a great opportunity for Ministries in our church to be involved. If you would be willing to work on Saturday, July 19 th from 9-1, please contact Pastor Terry at the church office, 864-476-2977. Thank you!!!!! The Church of God General Assembly will be held this year in Orlando Florida, July 28-Aug 1.

Often, members of the Church of God are interested in what will be discussed in the business

sessions of the Assembly. You can go online to www.churchofgod.org and click on the big blue

banner that says “International General Council Agenda”. You then choose whether you want to

view the agenda or download the agenda. We just wanted to make that information available to

you should you have a desire to read through that and see what will be discussed.

The next two Wednesday nights will be the last 2 nights of our intensive study on “Covenants”.

This coming Wednesday, we will deal with the Davidic Covenant. The following Wednesday

night, we will deal with the final and complete covenant which is the NEW COVENANT! I

hope you will be present for these two Wednesday nights as we conclude this study. For those in

the sanctuary, we will be receiving communion as a part of our final study on the New Covenant.

Make your plans to join with us.

The church office will be closed Friday, July 4th

in observance of Independence Day.

Someone will be on call should something arise.

Hope this short note finds all y’all blessed of the Lord. Just wanted to remind each of you that due to the July 4th weekend, our monthly meeting time has been changed to next Thursday which is July 10th at 6:30 in the man cave. At every meeting we have awesome food because the team of cooks we have for Band Of Brothers really know what they are doing in the kitchen. The fellowship will be second to none because our brothers are the best in the state. You do not need to miss this gathering men!!! Our lesson will be true Discipleship and what it really means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ. So guys, I want you to start now by doing a bit or research on this subject. I challenge each of you to read about it, look it up for yourself and bring your findings with you to the meeting and let's toss ideas around amongst ourselves. Let the sparks fly as "Iron Sharpens iron". For you fellers that have taken the courageous classes and have your certificate hanging on the wall, we as your brothers hold you accountable to come and help us become the men of God that we all need to be. So, Who will be there for us and help us ? I Will !!! I Will !!!

Mainstream Ministries will be having a corn hole tournament on Friday July 11th at 6:00 in the CLC. There will be turkey legs and sides for dinner and then we will get down to drawing for teams and have double elimination until we have a winning team.
