Cerritos Regional Chamber of Commerce installation luncheon The Cerritos Regional Chamber of Commerce’s 48h Annual Installation & Awards Luncheon was held on June 2nd at the Sheraton Cerritos Hotel. The purpose of the Installation Luncheon is to celebrate the Chamber’s 48 years of service to the community, to honor outgoing Board Members, welcome and install incoming Board Members, and to honor five key business leaders with annual awards. The event was sponsored by Los Cerritos Community Newspaper Group, Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud, and Romo, Kling and Pathak, Melanie Broad, LPL Financial Advi- sor, and Pioneer Publications. Cerritos Mayor Carol Chen administered the oath of office to the incoming Board Members. The theme, “Where the Wild Things Are” was chosen to capture incoming President Ann Smith’s fond- ness of literature, most notably Chil- dren’s Classic Books The first Chamber award was the Ambassador of the Year, which hon- ors an Ambassador who volunteers and assists with Chamber events and programs throughout the year. The honor of Ambassador of the Year 2011 was awarded to Ken Garcia of Golf N’ Stuff. Next was the Volunteer of the Year, which honors someone who volunteers a lot of his or her personal time and en- ergy to the Chamber. The honor of Vol- unteer of the Year 2011 was awarded to Ambassador Theresa Prumatico of the Artesia-Cerritos Lions Club. The third award was the Busi- ness Person of the Year, which honors a business leader, who supports the Chamber on behalf of their business. The 2011 Business Person of the Year was awarded to Leigh Clausen of Gateway Business Bank. Next, the Business of the Year award honors a local business for their years of dedication and service to the Chamber. The 2011 Business of the Year was presented to Norm Reeves Honda of Cerritos and was accepted by General Manager Brad Mugg. Concluding the awards was the President’s Award, which is a personal award given by the outgoing Chamber President to honor someone who has helped make the President’s year a success. In honor of Doug Padelford, who received the 2005 President’s Award one week before he passed away, the award was renamed the Doug Padelford Memorial Award to honor Doug’s spirit and commitment to the Cerritos Chamber. Outgoing Presi- dent Dr. Mary Sieu presented this year’s award to Lola Rizkallah of Cerritos College. Outgoing Board members Gordon Zbinden of Rose Hills Memorial Park, Lola Rizkallah of Cerritos College, and Allen Wood of Merriwood Management were honored and thanked for their years of service. The Chamber also wel- comed and installed the following new Board Members: George Ray, Civic Member, Leigh Claus- en of Gate- way Business Bank, Connie Turner of Southern CA Edison, and Cristina Riv- eroll of the Sheraton Cer- ritos Hotel. Cerritos Regional Chamber of Commerce installation luncheon

The Cerritos Regional Chamber of Commerce’s 48h Annual Installation & Awards Luncheon was held on June

2nd at the Sheraton Cerritos Hotel. The purpose of the Installation Luncheon is to celebrate the Chamber’s 48 years of service to the community, to honor outgoing Board Members, welcome and install incoming Board Members, and to honor five key business leaders with annual awards.

The event was sponsored by Los

Cerritos Community Newspaper Group, Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud, and Romo, Kling and Pathak, Melanie Broad, LPL Financial Advi-sor, and Pioneer Publications. Cerritos Mayor Carol Chen administered the oath of office to the incoming Board Members. The first Chamber award was the Ambassador of the Year, which hon-ors an Ambassador who volunteers and assists with Chamber events and programs throughout the year. The

honor of Ambassador of the Year 2011 was awarded to Ken Garcia of Golf N’ Stuff.
