Use a protractor to measure and construct angles. Measure vertical angles and determine relationship. 3. Name angles in 4 different ways. 4. Using AngLegs, construct acute, right, obtuse, and straight angles; show complementary angles and supplementary angles, adjacent and vertical angles. Jobs today : HMonitors: Collect "Me by the Numbers" and place in your period drawer AManagers: Is anyone absent? Write A on the roster next to student's name. Collect any handouts today and place them in your period's "What did I miss" folder. Retrievers: Vocab, expectations, parent letter, protractor Supply Managers: Check your bin for supplies (Should have 2 pencils, glue stick, tape, several markers and PROTRACTORS). Collectors: Collect any syllabus slips or Cobb County folder forms and place in your drawer. OManagers: Make sure everyone on task, appropriate noise level. Draw 2 intersecting lines in your notebook.
Measure and label all the angles carefully.
1. What do you notice? Opposite angles (or vertical angles) are equal.
The sum of adjacent angles (two angles next to each other)  is 180 degress (supplementary).
The sum of all 4 angles is 360 degrees, a full circle.
2.  When measuring angles with a protractor,  how do you know which scale to use?  Use  complete sentences to answer.
Start at the base of the angle, which is lined  up with the 0 degree line, and follow that  scale. If the angle is acute, it will measure less  than 90 degrees.  If the angle is obtuse, it will  be more than 90 degrees.
