Mostly based in Europe he has also had long term assignments in New York, Bahrain, Kuwait, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Sydney. Mr Süreyya Yücel Özden has 47 years of experience in Turkey’s engineering and industrial sectors. Mr. Özden currently serves as the Chief Advisor of the Board of Directors of GAMA HOLDİNG A.Ş. He was the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transportation between 1997- 2000, Chairman of the Board and General Director of The Turkish State Monopolies (TEKEL) from 1984 to 1991. He served as the Deputy Undersecretary in the Ministry of Finance until 1992. Prior to joining to GAMA Endüstri A.Ş. as the Planning and Investment Coordinator, he acted as the Chairman of the Board and General Director of the Turkish Nitrogen Industries Corp. Mr Özden served, first, as the General Secretary, between 2003-2005, for three years and then as the Chairman of the Board of the Turkish National Committee of the WEC. Currently he is the Chairman of the Energy Business Council of the DEİK which is a private sector institution affiliated to the Turkish Chamber of Commerce and Stock Exchange.

Assistant Professor Dr Filiz Katman holds a BS in Economics (in English) from Istanbul University, an MA in Political Science and International Relations (in English) from Marmara University, a PhD in International Security and Terrorism from Turkish Military Academy. Currently, Dr Katman is Executive Board President at the Energy Politics and Markets Research Centre (EPPAM), Editor-in-Chief at EPPAM Policy Brief, and a Faculty Member as Assistant Professor at the Department of Political Science and International Relations (in English) at Istanbul Aydin University. She is recipient of several awards and scholarships in both the domestic and international arenas, and has published several articles and books on energy policy and energy security, terrorism, security, political violence, cyber threats, Kurdish politics, Syria and NATO.

Comert has led the natural gas sector's liberalization process in Turkey and is the founder and was the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Shell Energy A.S., the first private company importing and trading natural gas in Turkey. He has also led Shell's entry in deep water exploration in the Mediterranean and West Black Sea as well as Shale Oil and Shale Gas exploration in South East Turkey in partnership with TPAO, the national upstream company. In Shell, Comert was an Exploration Leadership Team Member in Middle East and North Africa; a Gas and Power Leadership Team Member in South East Europe. Comert gained broad experience from the development of the Trans Caspian Gas Project, gas and power production, storage, LNG and distribution projects and initiated the Turkey-Greece Gas Pipeline Project, currently supplying gas to Greece via Turkey. Murat LeCompte has over 25 years of experience in the energy and technology industries. LeCompte was born in Istanbul, Turkey, and after spending his childhood years in both Turkey and the U.S., he received his A.A. degree from Bogazici University in Istanbul, and his B.A. from the University of Houston in Houston, Texas. LeCompte worked in the technology industry for 15 years, in professional services, consulting, and business development, managing many large-scale projects in both the U.S. and Turkey. He led the government relations, corporate affairs, and CSR initiatives for technology giants like Intel Corporation in Turkey. Murat LeCompte moved to the energy industry in 2005, and undertook roles in corporate communications and government affairs. He is currently the Director of Communications for BP Turkey. In this role, LeCompte is responsible for running BP’s corporate affairs, media relationships and corporate responsibility initiatives, for multiple businesses in Turkey.

He is the top executive of a natural gas company in Turkey and also member of the boards of two gas distribution companies in Turkey. He has been publishing articles various energy magazines.

Mr Desai has over 20 years experience within the Energy Sector. He is the CEO of EnBW Holding AS and an Executive Board Member of Borusan EnBW Energy Joint Venture. Since the day it was established, Borusan EnBW Energy strategically attaches priority and importance to the renewable energy resources in its portfolio. It targets to be among the most valuable energy companies in Turkey through putting into operation its new projects.

Ms Bernard started her career in energy trading and shipping at Mobil Oil Corporation (later Exxon-Mobil) in 1995. At first a marine fuel oil trader, she later was in charge of the development of the business in Africa and South America. In 1999, she joined Global Advisors, a start-up commodities hedge fund, as CFO-COO and Partner in charge of both the UK and US businesses. In 2008, she joined Massena Capital Partners, the Private Equity arm of the Massena Group, dedicated to High Net Worth Wealth Management and fund of family offices based in Paris and Geneva. Ms Bernard, as CFO of the Private Equity business, was in charge of fund structuring in dual regulatory environment (France and Luxembourg) and all compliance, internal controls and risk management issues of the business. Since 2010, Ms Bernard has developed an independent practice bringing renewable energy assets to both institutional and private investors. In 2013, she joined Ferrostaal Capital in Hamburg, Germany as Managing Director. Ms Bernard graduated from EMLYON in France in 1995 with a major in Corporate and Market Finance. She holds Board positions in both for and not-for profit organisations.

She is experienced in technical, environmental and financial evaluation of small scale renewable energy projects. An environmental engineer graduated from Yıldız Technical University, she worked as a teaching and research assistant at Boğaziçi University while studying for her MSc and PhD degrees. Having a strong interest in waste reduction in industry she is also an experienced energy efficiency auditor in industry.
