Group Activity Time provides an active learning experience to review lesson concepts.

What you need: globe, world map or map page (available on the CD-Rom)

What you do: Have the children sit in a circle and take turns pointing to different places on the globe or map. Name the country or area, and ask the children if God is with the people who live in that place. i.e., A child points to Africa. Explain that God is in Africa with the little children just like he is here with you. Continue with another child.

What you say: Today in our story we learned about how Elisha and his servant

saw God’s army on the hills surrounding the city. They found out that God is always

here and near. Is God in all of the different places that we looked at today on our

map? He is, and God is near to us too. Anywhere you are, God is right there with

you. He is always near.

What you need: magazine pictures showing different places such as a park, a home, a restaurant, a store, a bedroom, etc.

What you do: Have the children sit together on the floor. Show the pictures one at a time. If the children think that God can be there, they need to jump up and say “yes!”

saw God’s army on the hills surrounding the city. They found out that God is always

here and near. God is near to us too. Anywhere you are, God is right there with you.

He is always near.

What you need: memory cards (available on the CD-ROM), thick or colored paper for printing

What you do: Cut apart the cards and place face down. Each child will turn over two cards to try to find a match. When a match is found, ask the children, “Is God there?” If all matches are found before everyone has had a turn, mix up the cards and start again.
