When you think of aging, what does it look like? The media often portrays it as a negative experience, but we know better!
Join the Baltimore County Department of Aging as we challenge the stereotypes of getting older and celebrate our later years. In 2017, we will encourage individuals of all ages to discuss the perceived limitations placed on older adults and their ability to live to their fullest potential. We will highlight
individuals in our community who are making a difference as they age and offer resources to grow older successfully!

Baltimore County Department Of Aging Mission Statement
The Baltimore County Department of Aging strengthens lives by connecting Individuals to community resources, programs and services.
Membership Renewal & Registration going on now! A current year Senior Center Membership is required to participate in programs
and activities at the Parkville Senior Center as well all BCDA senior centers. Your membership counts as it shows the strength in numbers of the overall program.
Moreover, it ensures that we have the latest contact information for you as well. We ask that you take a few minutes out of your busy schedule to renew your
membership with us this month if you haven’t already done so. Make sure you have up-to-date emergency contact information when you come.
Take the Opportunity to Support Your Center!
At membership renewal please consider making a donation to our Enhancement Fund. If you didn’t make a donation when you registered, please reconsider. You can stop by the office any time and we’ll be happy to assist you. A donation of any amount is greatly appreciated and donations of $15 or greater
comes with the bonus of a year’s subscription to the Senior Digest. All of your donation comes back to make the center a better place. This year your donation will
help us make the jump into the digital age as we hope to be able to offer a computerized membership and registration system.
This modern system would potentially provide: -Vastly reduced membership renewal times
-Member swipe cards -Eliminate front desk and class attendance sign-in sheets
Inclement Weather Policy
It is the policy of the Baltimore County Department of Aging to open and fully operate its senior centers as scheduled. The effects of severe weather and concern
for the safety of our constituents may, however, lead us to close centers at times. When this occurs, announcements will only be made on WBAL-Radio 1090 AM,
WBAL-TV 11, & WJZ-TV 13 as well as the Baltimore County website www.baltimorecountymd.gov. Senior Centers will open at 10:30 a.m. when a 2-hour
delay is reported.

It is the policy of the Baltimore County Department of Aging to open and fully operate its programs as scheduled. The effects of severe weather and concern for the safety of our constituents may, however, lead us to close centers, CountyRide, and other services/programs. When this or closing for any other reason occurs, media announcements regarding closures or late openings will ONLY be made on WBAL Radio, 1090 AM; WBAL-TV 11 and WJZ-TV 13. Information on closings and/or late openings will also be published on the Baltimore County web site, www.baltimorecountymd.gov. Senior Centers will open at 10:30 a.m. when a 2-hour delay is reported.
