This topic is leading them into the topic of scientific notation. So far they have learned the 7 properties of exponents which are: Product of Power, Power of Power, Negative Exponent Property, Power of a Product, Zeroth Power Property, Power of a Quotient, and Quotient of a Power. They may all sound similar, but each one is it's own law. Ask you child to explain each of them to you. Scientific notation is used as a way to express very large and very small numbers. Numbers with positive powers of 10 are numbers that we see when we are comparing distances of planets. Numbers with negative powers of 10 would be used to identify tiny particles of bacteria that often grow rapidly. This type of math connects to science in the case of astrology and biology. Please encourage your child to pay attention in school, ask for clarification if needed and to turn in all assignments on time. **Mrs. Aguilar & Ms. Hoskin** Exploring Social In both 7th and 8th grade Social Studies this year students will be exploring America's History. Both grades are required to communicate their results using a lab write up format. ****Mrs. Pham****
