Golf Classic

The Methodist Home Auxiliary Board is again pleased to honor Linda Moore with The 2019 Golf Classic. Linda envisioned an annual Golf Classic, believing it would raise awareness and help achieve the mission of The Meth-odist Home to “restore childhoods and strengthen families.” The funds received from this tournament enable the young men who live at the St. Marys Campus

an opportunity to grow and develop into confident adults of faith and character, who will be strong and self-sufficient throughout their lives.

Thanks to our supporters throughout Coastal Georgia, the Auxiliary Board of the St. Marys Campus has been able to provide for these boys beyond the daily needs. Examples include traveling to Washington, DC to learn about our nation’s capital, participating in school sports, attending professional football and baseball games, and enjoying cultural events — all of which gives them an opportunity to learn and grow into adulthood. Your generosity provides the resources for the boys to become respectful, trustworthy, responsible and caring young men. We strive to help make the St. Marys Campus a place they can be proud of and call “home.”

• The Methodist Home began operations in Macon, Georgia, in 1872.• Today, the Home has six locations; Macon, Columbus, Americus, Valdosta, Arabella and St. Marys.• The St. Marys Campus was opened in 2002, and since its opening, has provided residential treatment services to more than 200 children.• Most of the children are referred through the courts or the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services due to abuse and neglect.• Many have been unsuccessful in the foster care system - some of the children have experienced 10 to 15 failed placements before theyfindasafeplaceatTheMethodistHome.• Each child comes with an individual case plan, which is assessed for their future growth and development utilizing a “Family- Centered Practice” that involves parents and other family members.• The Methodist Home coordinates all aspects of our young men’s lives with regards to tutoring and academic support, preparation for independent living, therapeutic and psychiatric support, life skills and recreation opportunities, and other specialized services as needed.
