Department of English
• English Curricula in grades 9, 10, 11 and 12 provides:
• An integration of the four Language Arts strands: Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking;
• A mix of classic and contemporary literature, including at least one Shakespearean work each year, poetry as well as prose, and works of non-fiction;
• Inclusion of research skills at each grade level with all students completing at least one formal research paper in grades 9-12;
• Alignment with New York State and Core Standards;
• All of our courses include some form of research-based instruction;
• English 12- All students will be required to complete at least two research projects prior to graduation.

•Patchogue Medford High School announced that seniors, Hannah Chesebro,
Bailey Logan and Daniel Marzagalli, have won merit scholarships from the
Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), marking at least 12 consecutive years
Patchogue Medford students have garnered these honors.
