9-1-1 GOES TO WASHINGTON brings together hundreds of 9-1-1 professionals from around the country with policy leaders in our nation’s capital to explore and discuss today’s most pressing 9-1-1 and emergency communications issues. 9-1-1 Goes to Washington is the only event where you can learn about the policy challenges facing public safety and take immediate action to address them through dialog with your elected and appointed officials.
The conference offers a significant opportunity for 9-1-1 professionals to shape the nation’s emergency communications policy agenda. To address the needs of today’s 9-1-1 and prepare for Next Generation 9-1-1, we must understand today’s 9-1-1 policy landscape and take an active role in educating policymakers to shape the laws and rules that govern it. At 9-1-1 Goes to Washington, you will be both a student and a teacher. Join us in Washington for a dynamic, interactive program where you will receive:

“In the 9-1-1 world we rarely get to tell our story. Meeting with the staffers and elected officials opened my eyes to how little Washington
knows about 9-1-1 and how important it is that we educate them. At 9-1-1 Goes to Washington, I was able to tell my story—our story—to folks who can improve 9-1-1, nationwide, with the stroke of a pen.”
— Andrea Wilson, Montgomery County (TX) 911

Post-Conference Course NG9-1-1: The Next Generation is NowThis class provides an overview of NG9-1-1— what it means, what it does, and how it will change not just the 9-1-1 center but the entire public safety environment. No matter what your role may be—9-1-1, law enforcement, ems, fire, or government, you will gain important insight into the questions surrounding NG9-1-1. As a starting point, we will highlight how the basic elements of 9-1-1 work today, then identify critical components of the full NG deployment and how those changes will impact 9-1-1 operations. You will also be able to identify the initial actions you need to take today and tomorrow to get the most out of this quantum leap in 9-1-1 technology, an understanding that will benefit anyone in the public safety profession.
