Roy Peltier

If indeed we use the testimonies of people to learn from and, if at all possible, not repeat; then mine is indeed the quintessential quid pro quo. (The essence of a com-pletely equal exchange)

I never knew God when I was young. I knew that I was always in church to repeat a lot of Latin words, ring bells, and if we could get away with it, get our share of the sacramental wine. Aahh, life was good, and after all, we were “altar boys.” I grew up in the late 60’s and 70’s. I was completely a part of the growing drug culture evolving at this time. If it was “cool”, then I was “cool”, and entirely too smart (so I thought) for my own good. I managed to get myself hooked up with some ex-tremely bad and dangerous relations, and at one point, had to leave town pulling my trailer home behind me, literally running for my life. Enough said here, I think we all get the point.

I always knew that there was more to God then what I had experienced, but did not know salvation until my mother-in- law led me to the Lord. This was the point that got God literally involved with my life, although I would still go on for a season just “playing church.” This season went on through most of my military career, and not until pretty much the end of my career did I finally resolve myself to “get real” with God. Even after my resolve and after my career, I found out that I had a very “addictive” personality, and had to deal with occasional recreational “bouts” of drug interaction. Every one though, eventually has to come to “critical mass.” This is the point where you realize that you can no longer just sit on the fence, but make a decision that will ultimately get you into the game, or have you thrown out. Mine was the death of my mother.

I had to go back to the place where the devil stole everything from me to reclaim it, and get my life back. Her death was a total deliverance for me; for she was in my arms the moment that her spirit left her body and I actually saw it leave. This mo-ment changed my life and enabled me to begin my true walk with God.

If we believe that we can play games with God, be ready to count the cost, for it will cost you. But God is faithful no matter what. About seven years ago I was struck with a case of severe anemia, congestive heart failure, and renal failure. This was another of many times when I should have died, but was kept. I am here to tell you that we have a God who heals and restores. He has totally brought me back, and to the constant amazement of doctors, has restored what was said to be im-possible. There is a reason we are all here and it is to find our position in Him, to walk with Him for His purpose. There is no time left to play games. We are the end time church and we have to stand up and meet the enemy head on. Be the warrior God has called. Believe Him and stand.
