The Carnival is traditionally the period before Lent and is celebrated with costume parties , parades of floats and dances. The main events take place ending with Shrove Tuesday, which precedes the Feast of Ashes, beginning, for Christians, a sacred period of forty days in preparation for the feast of Easter, called Lent (from the Latin quarantine ) .
Throughout Italy will organize parties and costume parades. In many towns there are processions of floats.
The cities most famous for Carnival

Venice Carnival
Carnival of Viareggio
Carnival of Cento
At the Carnival today are related some typical masks, caricatures of faults and defects of the inhabitants of the various regions.

The Carnival in our school
The children worked on the theme of Carnival learning poems, staging of theatrical schatch, mimicking some rhymes. Some classes have in-depth knowledge of the typical masks and their geographical origin.
Thursday, February 27th all classes participated in the carnival party organized tournament games.
