  • The Carnival is traditionally the period before Lent and is celebrated with costume parties , parades of floats and dances. The main events take place ending with Shrove Tuesday, which precedes the Feast of Ashes, beginning, for Christians, a sacred period of forty days in preparation for the feast of Easter, called Lent (from the Latin quarantine ) .

  • Throughout Italy will organize parties and costume parades. In many towns there are processions of floats.
