1. Review Your YearOne of the best ways to decide what to do next, is to analyse what you have already done. What worked, what didn’t? Why? Is it worth repeating, does it need a revamp or is it destined for the trash. Use logic rather than emotion when deciding (I know it’s hard to admit that something you’ve worked long and hard on hasn’t made the grade but it’s a dead weight around your neck. Put all that energy into something that will work). Reviewing your year gives you physical data on which you can build, test and measure your progress as apposed to theoretical data based on information you might have read about.

Look back over your year and answer these questions.

1. What were your 3 to 5 greatest achievements?

2. What were your biggest disappointments?

3. What would you keep the same, and why?

4. What would you change, and why?

5. What have been your key learnings this year?

2. Know Your PurposeWhy are you doing what you’re doing? I’m not talking about your ‘elevator pitch’. This isn’t about the story you tell others, this is YOUR why - the reason you get out of bed every day and do what you do. What is it about what you do that lights the fire in your belly, that gives you goosebumps when you think about it, that makes your heart flutter with excitement and joy?

When you acknowledge and own your WHY, when it becomes part of your authentic self nothing will get between you and success.

3. Get Clear & Be SpecificThis may sound simplistic, but I am constantly shocked by how many people are not clear on what it is they truly want. For example: “I want more clients and money.” You may think that’s clear, but it’s not. Clarity is knowing exactly how much money you want to make and exactly how you want to make it. Do you want to make $5,000 more a month? How will you bring that in? With 5 clients charging $1,000 each? or 10 clients charging $500 each? The more specific you get, the easier it is to know what steps you need to take.

4. Do Something Every Day

Take Action - Do at least one thing every day that moves you one step closer to achieving your goal.

5. Know YourselfNo-one knows you better than you do. List out what drives you, what distracts you, what you avoid and what you are attracted to. What habits and traits do you have, do they support you or do they stop you. Are they things you can or want to change?

Acknowledge, embrace and accept your strengths and weaknesses, for that’s who you are. Work with them rather than fight them and your motivation will soar to all new heights.

6. Ask For HelpI cannot emphasise how important this is for your continued growth, success and sanity. Asking for help is not a weakness, it’s a strength. Don’t struggle in silence, identify what it is you need help with and ask. Everybody needs help and support in business, it doesn’t matter where you are on your journey. And don’t forget, the more you learn by asking the more you can offer your clients.

7. Laugh Out LoudLaugh out loud every day, not just a giggle but a full on belly laugh. You will know why when you start doing it!

8. Promote YourselfLet people know what you do. Everybody needs help at some time (or knows someone else who does), so it’s important they know who you are and what you do. Do your research and choose your medium/s wisely, where do your ideal customers hang out on line, what services do they use.

BIG TIP: Tell them what results they will get by working with you, all they want to know initially is how you’ll fix their biggest problem, not what technique you use or how long it will take. (Get this right and your conversions will soar)

9. Dream BIGDare to dream BIG - the bigger the better. Don’t minimise your dreams to fit in or listen to your controlling self-talk. Dreams are where you are powerful, you find ways to overcome any hurdles placed in your way and problems are solved. Allow your dreams to be the dress rehearsal of your life, for once you have dreamed it you can do it. Dream BIG - anything is possible.
