Educational Visits
Boulangerie les Co’pains
Children will make bread the traditional way with natural yeast, kneading and knocking the dough back by hand. They will discover all about different grains and types of bread. We will also visit the mill to find out about flour and the process of making wheat into bread. The children will bring home the bread they make!
Chevrerie du Mesnil
Learn all about raising alpine goats!
•See the goats in the fields•Learn about making traditional French crottins (goats’ cheese)•Try cheese (if you dare …)
This is a fantastic place, with welcoming staff who have a passion for goats and goat cheese and milk!
Normandy Landing beaches & WW2 Military Cemetery
The impressive cemetery and museum is dedicated to the Normandy campaign of WW2 from the D Day landings up to the liberation of Paris.
It is a fascinating and very moving place.
The beaches now are like any others. We will encourage the children to reflect on how different they must have been 70 years ago!
On the cliff tops above Arromanches-les-Bains, this 360 cinema will give us a realistic view of what life was like during the Normandy landings on D Day and beyond.
Bayeux tapestry
The story told in embroidery of the Battle of Hastings and the subsequent Norman Conquest of Britain.
An amazing piece of history that is incredibly well preserved and superbly detailed.
Markets at Bayeux andBalleroy
We will visit traditional French markets and have the chance to buy lunch, which will be prepared for us at the Chateau!
