9 X TableI will show you how you can use your hands to help you with your
9X table
1 X 9 = 9
• Bend your thumb for 1 X 9. Each finger to the right of the bent finger is worth 1. There are 9 units (1’s) to the right, so 1 X 9 = 9
2 X 9 = 18
• Bend your second finger from the left for 2 X 9. Remember – all fingers to the right are worth 1. All fingers to the left are worth 10. So, 10 + 8 = 18. 2 X 9 = 18
3 X 9 = 27
• Bend your 3rd finger for 3 X 9. Remember – 10’s to the left, 1’s to the right. 2 tens + 7 ones = 20 + 7 = 27. 3 X 9 = 27
4 X 9 = ?
• Remember – bend your 4th finger from the left for 4 X 9.
• How many tens to the left?
• How many 1’s to the right?
• What is the answer?

4 X 9 = 36
