APPLICATION
The Det-Tronics DMC (Detector Multi-Channel) is a
weatherproof, multi-sensor process monitor that deliversreliable protection. The DMC accommodates up to36 channels of toxic/combustible gas and/or flame
monitoring, and offers panel selectable configuration ofsensor type, range, and alarm output level. Weighing
less than 9 pounds, the wall-mounted DMC enclosure iseasy to install and commission, and delivers exceptional
protection for a wide range of industrial applications.A number of system options are available including apreinstalled 24 Vdc power supply, special programming,
and communication protocols.
DESCRIPTION
The DMC system is an integrated programmable logic
controller (PLC), operator interface, I/O and networkingpackage. It utilizes a ladder-logic based control engineand features an Intel processor with speed comparable
to most mid-sized PLCs. The control unit uses a stackedinput/output module design that supports up to four I/O
modules in a single unit.
A DIN rail mounted interposing terminal strip is provided forall operating power, input, and output wiring connections.Internal power and I/O circuitry is distributed to the wiring
terminals. Fuse protection is provided on the main powerinput and all signal inputs. The DMC is compatible with
any 2 or 3-wire device that generates a 4-20 milliampereanalog signal. Alarm outputs are normally open SPST
contacts, rated 4.0 amps at 30 vdc or 250 vac (non-inductive).
The DMC system is field configured using the onboardkeypad and LCD display. Selectable detector types
include Combustibles, Cl2, ClO2, CO, H2S, HCN, NH3,
O2, PH3, SO2 and flame. A number of full scalemeasurement ranges per gas type are selectable. Highand Low Alarm levels are selectable for each channel.
An optional Flame detector channel designator is alsoselectable. Special channel designations are availableupon request.
Standard common alarm (OR-Gate) logic is provided for
the high alarm, low alarm, fault, horn, and strobe outputs. The horn and strobe outputs are driven by any low or
high level alarm. The horn can be immediately silenced
using the Silence Alarm key. Special logic programmingis available upon request. Logical cause/effect diagrams
are required prior to quotation.
Each DMC system is shipped with a system instructionand operations manual that includes mechanical andelectrical drawings showing all wiring terminations.
