THE EPIPHANY OF THE LORD JANUARY 5, 2014

PRAYER REQUEST: Let us remember in our prayers: All Military Personnel. A PRAYER FOR MILITARY

O God of Mercy, we beg you now to protect in a special way those who are fighting for us and for the country we love. Bless them and take care of them. If they are tired, give them strength. If they are wounded and suffering, give them com-fort. If they are lonely, touch them with Your gentle hand and let them know that You are near them. And if it be Your holy will that they should give up their lives for us. Grant them a good death and a home with You in Heaven. Hasten the day, dear Lord, when we may all enjoy the blessings of peace once more. Amen. Blessed Mother, pray for them. St. Joseph, pray for them . St. Benedict, pray for them. ******PLEASE LET US KNOW WHEN NAMES NEED TO BE REMOVED FROM PRAYER LIST.******** Celine Maestas, Bertha & Michelle Romero, Claudina Jaramillo, Mel Martinez, Leila Valdez, Alberta Salazar, Sam & Melissa Trujillo, Ellie Gallegos, Florida Sena, Mary Frances Nieto, Lucrecia Bustos, Baby Rafael Garcia, Joseph Norris, Rose Lovato, Lucy Manzanares, Sarah Valdez, Debbie Pearcy, Richard VanSwearingen, Marie Mill-sap, Santiago Parra, Carol Blea, Angelina Sanchez, Lala Gonzales, J. Rejoice in TODAY - STOP AND PRAISE! Each day of the year is truly a gift from God. How often we forget this! We become enmeshed in the problems of every-day life and instead of rejoicing and giving thanks for the gift, we are cross and irritable. The toast is burnt, we’re out of milk, the children are arguing! Rush, rush, rush - there’s hardly time to think of God, much less to praise Him. And yet - this is God’s day, the only one like it! Stop and praise! Let the toast be your burnt offering, breakfast without milk an exercise in self denial and the argument an occasion to practice brotherly love. It doesn’t really take any extra time, just a change in atti-tude! This is the day the Lord has made! Be glad & rejoice!

~Joan Zrilich, Living Words
