NOTE: THIS SPECIFICATION IS NOT INTENDED FOR USE OVER GRAVEL SURFACED ROOF SYSTEMS. APPLICATOR QUALIFICATIONS Applicator shall have general knowledge and general understand- ing of roofing as well as all Tropical Roofing Products for any given specified project. For all warranties, a firm, which has complete business stability, shall perform the work in this section. JOB CONDITIONS To proceed with proper conditions, the applicator must be aware of the following: Curing time for all products is critical. Applicator must allow for sufficient cure time for each product. Be aware that outside temperatures will be a factor. Do not begin work if rain or heavy dew is expected within twenty-four to forty-eight (24-48) hours of application. Do not begin work if temperatures are expected to fall below 50ºF during the duration of the job. Other environmental conditions such as humidity, mist, dew, extreme temperatures, and condensation can affect cure of products in an adverse way. If ponding water is present in any area for more than 48 hours, the #911 Eternalastic Coating System is not recommended. FLASHING All flashings and drip edges should be treated with #950 Eterna- mastic or #951 Eternapatch along with #930 Polyester Fabric and have a minimum dry film thickness of 60 mils. Curbs are to be treated with #950 or #951 along with #930; with a minimum overall width of 12” (6” on either side of the curb). Penetrations and all other flashings are to be flashed using #950 or #951 along with #930 Polyester Fabric. #950 Eternamastic or #951 Eternapatch is applied around the base of each penetration and extended 3” beyond on both sides and feathered. For high stress areas or mem- brane repairs or reinforcement; apply a layer of #950 using a brush or a trowel. While #950 is still wet, #930 Polyester Fabric is embed- ded and a second coat of mastic is applied. Check & top-off pitch pockets as needed with #950 or #951. Allow the detail to cure before proceeding. ROOF PREPARATION Surface to be repaired or coated must be clean, dry and free of dust, dirt, grease, wax, or other incompatible substances. Existing substrate must be securely attached. All necessary repairs shall be made to the existing roof according to NRCA (National Roofing Contractors Association) guidelines. GENERALA highly-reflective Cool Roof Restoration System designed to provide an energy efficient, seamless, fluid applied roof coating system over existing smooth or mineral surfaced BUR and Modified Bitumen roofing as outlined in this specification. NOTE: THIS SPECIFICATION IS NOT INTENDED FOR USE OVER GRAVEL SURFACED ROOF SYSTEMS.

APPLICATOR QUALIFICATIONSApplicator shall have general knowledge and general understand-ing of roofing as well as all Tropical Roofing Products for any given specified project. For all warranties, a firm, which has complete business stability, shall perform the work in this section.

    Section 07 56 00 - Fluid Applied Roof Coating SystemDIVISION 7

APPLICATIONNOTE: DO NOT ALLOW PRODUCT[S] TO FREEZE. Thoroughly inspect the roof for any defects such as holes, cracks, etc. Holes or cracks larger than 1/8” must be repaired before coating application using #950 Eternamastic or #951 Eternapatch along with #930 Polyester Fabric. If the Modified Bitumen roof is newly installed, do not coat with the #911 Eternalastic Restoration System for a minimum of 30 days to allow for full “cure” of the Modified Bitumen. Components of the #911 Eternalastic Restoration System are applied using a brush, roller, trowel, or airless spray.

Apply #360 Emulsion uniformly to the entire roof surface at the rate of 6 gallons per 100 square feet. Apply a layer of #930 Polyester Fabric into the wet #360 Emulsion. Allow for proper curing time of 5-7 days (weather conditions may vary state to state).

Apply #911 Eternalastic Restoration System at the rate of 3 gallons per 100 square feet, which must be applied evenly in two coats, (1.5 gallons grey/white base coat, 1.5 gallons white top coat) with the second coat being applied perpendicular from the first – in a ‘cross hatch’ manner. Allow a minimum of 12 hours drying time before allowing any foot traffic or inspections.

WARRANTYThe applicator shall repair and/or replace any defective work found at the end of the job before any warranties will be issued. Applica-tion of the #911 Eternalastic Restoration System to new or existing BUR or modified bitumen roofing, as described in this specification, will result in a coating or “membrane” that is durable, reflective, mildew and discoloration resistant. Upon TRP inspection, a properly applied #911 Eternalastic Restoration System is eligible for Tropical Roofing Products’ Limited Ten (10) Year Materials Warranty. DILUTION OF ANY ETERNALASTIC PRODUCT USED IN ANY APPLICATION NEGATES ANY WARRANTY FROM TROPICAL ROOFING PRODUCTS.

MAINTENANCEIn order to ensure that your Tropical Roofing Products roof coating will continue to perform to its fullest, you should follow, implement and satisfy this Care and Maintenance program. Maintain a file for all records relating to this roof, including the Tropical Roofing Prod-ucts agreements, reports, invoices, repair and maintenance bills, original drawings and specifications. Inspect the roof and coating at least twice each year, typically in the spring and fall. The most common areas of damage or distress are at drainage points, penetrations, perimeter flashings and in traffic areas. Pressure wash the coating as needed (and not less often than once every 18 months) in order to remove all dirt and debris on the surface. Wash using clean water with appropriate pressure and pressure washing equipment. Surface should be maintained in clean white condition.Inspect for damage from the elements after severe weather condi-tions, such as hailstorms, heavy rains, high winds. Arrange for prompt repairs necessary to correct non-guaranteed conditions affecting the roof surface.
