The American Sewing Guild (ASG) meets each month at both Kingdom stores. This group is a national non-profit organization dedicated to people who believe sewing is a rewarding and creative activity. Chapters promote sewing in local communities through encouragement, education and support. They also host social events such as fashion shows and sewing fairs and many do sewing related ser-vice projects for the community. Check the calendar page for details on time and location. Come visit at the next meeting and enjoy the camaraderie with like minded peo-ple. All ages are welcome.

Our Embroidery Club—generously sponsored by Kingdom sewing, is a group of machine embroidery enthusiasts that meet on the second Monday of the month, 6:00 p.m., in the Simi store. Led by Melody and Jackie, the goal is to get people to actually use their machines! Our projects are simple ones; we charge a nominal fee—usually $3– to cover our supplies. You will usually do the embroidery at home and then complete the project in class. If you are interested in joining the fun, send an email to Melody at Hermance@pacbell.net. Be sure to put “Hoops and Oops” in the subject line. We would love to have you join us!

MONDAY EMBROIDERY/QUILTING WORKSHOP

Bring your embroidery and quilting projects and enjoy the company of other sewists. Phylis will

be there to help with questions and keep us all on track. Join us on the third Monday of each

month at 9:30 in the Simi store. Class fee $10 payable to Phylis.

Be sure to sign up so we know how many to expect.

WEEKLY SEWING CLASSES We are pleased to have Susan Godfrey teaching ongoing sewing classes from beginner through advanced. She

teaches in our Northridge store on Mondays and Wednesdays and in our Simi Store on Tuesdays. We have

classes for teens and adults, both private and semi-private, beginning at $20 per class. Please call for more in-

SERGER BASICS Do you have a new serger that you need to get to know or one that’s been living in the closet for

longer than you care to admit? In this class learn to operate a serger while experimenting with

different ways to use the basic four serger stitches. All serger brands are welcome! Class is

FREE for those who purchased their sergers at Kingdom.

UFO-BUSTER WORKSHOP

Do you have a pile of UFOs (unfinished objects) lurking in your sewing room? Gina S. is an

award winning quilter and will guide you through finishing your projects. Take advantage of her

skills, knowledge and experience for your unfinished quilting projects. The workshop will meet

on the 4th Thursday of each month and will be expanded based on your requests.

ELLISIMO CLUB - Basics

This quarter’s class will focus on the Tablet and the On Screen Designer

functions that are really fun to use. Artwork will be supplied for practice

exercises. We’ll experiment with drawing on both the tablet and the screen

and then stitch out what we create. FREE to those who purchased their

machines from Kingdom.

HANDI QUILTER SWEET 16

Try the Sweet 16 by Handiquilter. Let's do a study in backgrounds. Each student will go home

with a sampler of ideas to use in their next quilt. Feel free to come whether you already own a

Sweet 16 or are considering buying one.

Twisted Triangle Table Runner

Nancy Zieman has created a wonderful, easy way to make a table runner...use her Twisted

Triangles Template with the accompanying book, and just three fabrics – a light, a medium and

a dark! You can cut your fabrics into strips yourself or use precut Jelly Roll strips. Samples

will be in the stores soon. Nancy’s book and template are required for this class. Class fee

includes the book and template.

EmbroideryWorks With RLarry - This should be a very eye-opening experience as

RLarry takes us through some of the features of EmbroideryWorks software. We’ll learn to perfect

our embroidery designs before we even think about stitching. He'll also show us how to work with

the AccuQuilt shapes now available in EmbroideryWorks. We'll spend the morning working with

the software and stitch out what we've created in the afternoon.

Sewing Machine Cover - Bring your machine and make a cover for it. Make it as

simple or as fancy as you want. Use your leftover blocks or embroidery piece or try a new

technique and come have fun.

Fearless Circles - Come learn how to piece perfect circles every time. Even make a circle in
