4.2 9312 Compact OD Power Requirements

This chapter describe the power characteristics and requirements for9312 Compact OD, currently this 9312 Compact OD is proposed onlyin one variant AC.

    4.2.1 AC Voltage Range

The 9312 Compact OD outdoor AC only cabinet is powered from oneof the following power supply networks:

230VAC, single phase, Two wires (Phase, Neutral) and protectiveearth (180/264VAC 22%/+15%)

120/240VAC, Split phase US, Three wires (Phase 1, Phase 2, Neutral)and protective earth (180/264VAC 22%/+15%)

The AC power networks shall be TT or TN-S. However, the cabinetshall suffer no irreversible damage when it is wrongfully connected toan IT or TN-C power network.

The cabinet operate at full performances across the voltage range[180V; 264V] and the frequency range [45Hz; 65Hz].

4.2.2 AC Consumption of 9312 Compact OD

Below some examples of power consumptions and battery backup timein function of some configurations (xCEM-u, xCCM-u and TRDU 40W2100Mhz)

In case batteries are charging, the max DC power consumption is1600W with one rectifier or 2000W when the configuration is equippedwith 2 rectifiers, thanks to the input current limitation.

In case heaters are on (during the cold start up or when temperature islower than 0C and equipment power consumption is lower than 800W),the Max DC power consumption is 800W (cf Environmental coolingsystem chapter).

The power supply consumption, based on the TRDU output power andsome measurements, is the following (Figures have to be confirmedwith the serial production):

    4.3 Site Requirements

    4.3.1 Site Access

Once a site has been selected, access conditions should be evaluated todetermine whether the cabinet should be delivered populated (easy-access site) or depopulated (difficult-access site).

The access conditions must comply with cabinet dimensions and theavailable moving equipment.

The packaging can be removed to get over an obstacle (door orstaircase...) but keep some protection of the 9312 Compact OD(Antistatic bag or vapor barrier or blanket...)

    4.3.1.1 Easy Access Site Characteristics

The site access conditions allow the mechanical handling of apopulated cabinet throughout the distance separating the deliverypoint from the mounting location without manual carrying.

The mechanical means used to carry and/or hoist the fully populatedcabinet (e.g. dolly system, elevator, etc) must be qualified to bear thefully populated cabinet weightin compliance with standard securityrequirements.

    4.3.1.2 Difficult Access Site Characteristics

For this type of site, mechanical means cannot cover the entiredelivery to mounting location distance; part of the way (as small as it

might be) requires manual carrying. As a consequence, the cabinetcan be depopulated to reduce its weight.

Even though the cabinet can be carried manually, the maximum useof mechanical means is encouraged to enhance the safety and securityof both staff and equipment.

    4.3.2 Cabinet Handling

The 9312 Compact OD cabinets are delivered upright with a corrugatedcardboard sleeve on a wooden pallet in case of road transport. They aredelivered lying in plywood crates in case of air and sea transports. In allcases, the specific packing allows their handling by means of a fork-lifttruck.

The equipment should be unpacked as close as possible to their precisemounting location.

The path from the delivery point to the mounting location should beclear of any obstacles.

Note: The Handle Extractor is now classified as a separate tool, and willnot delivered with the node B (3JR08430AA)

    4.3.2.1 Lifting

The populated cabinet must be handled with mechanical devices(thecabinet may only be guided manually during lift-off or during finalpositioning, provided that basic safety rules are observed by thepersonnel).

The cabinets are hoisted with 4 lifting eyes M12 type associated with aspacer, by a lifting vehicle suited to the cabinet weight and to the sitecharacteristics (height, jib).

Note: This equipment should be lifted using 4 (four) lifting ring sets.Four sets but these are NOT delivered with the Node B. (A liftingring set comprises 1 (one) lifting ring 1AD011980007 + 1 (one)spacer 1AD003950005).

Since the hoisting operation with a lifting vehicle is designed to positionthe cabinet directly on its mounting support, the access conditions of thelifting vehicle are extremely important and obviously, the mountingsupport, if needed, should be installed before hand.

In case of outdoor hoisting with a jib crane, the parameters to take intoaccount are:

    Floor mechanical resistance.

    Height of the building.

    Width of the building.

    Width of the street.

    Width of pavements / sidewalks.

    Natural obstacles.

Safety requirements for the hoisting operation.

All other handling methods must be specified and validated if requiredby the project.

A specific manual moving by 4 installers (mover profile) or a specificmechanical moving by 2 installers means is needed to install this 9312Compact OD.

The empty cabinet can be carried by 2 installers (mover profile).

The 9312 Compact OD cabinet can be installed either on a concretefloor or on a raised floor.

The floor covering must be antistatic (about 1MOhms) or the technicianmust use an antistatic bracelet.

    4.3.3.1 Resistance

In accordance to cabinet weight and door opening, the minimum floor

resistance should be, AC fully configured: 220 kg/m(only for the 9312Compact OD)

If needed, a load-spreading structure should be studied in compliancewith the maximum floor resistance allowed by the supporting surface

and the type of mounting interface chosen to install the cabinets (I-Beams, customer frame...).

    4.3.3.2 Floor Flatness

The 9312 Compact OD must be installed on a level floor surface. Themaximum tolerance for floor flatness is 5 mm over 2 m(~ 0.2 over78).

In other words, the vertical tolerance shall not exceed 5 mm over a 2 mhorizontal length.

If the floor does not respect this maximum tolerance, the cabinet onceinstalled may be twisted and the cabinet door might be impossible toopen. In this case, cabinet watertightness along the front doors shall notbe guaranteed.

    4.3.6 Site Dimensioning Rules

The criteria governing the size of the site are:

the cabinet dimensions and the distance constraint,

the relative positions of cabinets (Site layout),

cabinets orientation in outdoor site, with respect to exposure to winds/sun and possible nuisance caused to the neighbourhood (noise).

    the input constraint of cables.

If the site contains more than one cabinet, the dimensions andconstraint must be adapted

4.3.6.1 Cabinet Dimensions and Distance Constraint

The clearances considers the clean surface which is the minimum

surface required to install the cabinets on site. Cabling access bulkheadsare available on the front side of the cabinet.

The following figures display the minimum surface for a cabinet on siteinstallation.

4.3.6.3 Cabinets Orientation in Outdoor Site

The cabinet must be placed so that following rules are respected (ifpossible):

heat dissipation is optimized by placing the cabinet back facing southfor northern-hemisphere countries (the cabinet back should face northfor southern-hemisphere countries).

rainfall effects are limited by placing the cabinet parallel to thedirection of dominant winds.

in case of a high-wind area (typhoon...), the cabinet should be placedin a protected zone.

The local weather conditions must be taken into account to determinethe priority between the rules above.

Possible nuisance caused to the neighborhood must also be taken intoaccount (noise...).

    4.3.6.4 Input Constraint of Cables

The positioning of the cabinet must take into account the arrival of thecables to the cabinet.

4.4 9312 Compact OD Site Preparation

This section describes the preparatory work which should be carried outon site prior to the 9312 Compact OD outdoor variant installation.

    4.4.1 9312 Compact OD Support

The 9312 Compact OD outdoor can be installed on the types of sitesbelow:

Ground level or terraces of buildings

The cabinet(s) can be installed on a concrete pad (with its plinth) or onan I-beam structure. In any case, the structure should be able to supportthe cabinet(s) weight(s) and respect the securing holes positioning.

    Figure 20 Floor Solution

pole or wall mounting with frame support

A pole or wall mounting bracket can be used by the customer and to bemade with the following constraints:

    - The fixing points of the cabinet

    - The cabinets dimensions (weight and size)

    - Interface and environmental conditions of the cabinet. The pole and wall support the maximum cabinet weight andenvironmental constraints (Snow, wind, ice...).

It is preferable to install the pole/wall mounting to have the cabinet atthe man heightfor operation purpose.

The 9312 Compact OD can be fixed on pole from 8"(200 mm) to 24"(600 mm).

    4.5.5 Feeders and Antenna System

The customer must foresee and install the antennae system and thefeeders. The antennae are installed in compliance with the radioengineering studies by trained staff.

Feeders are used to establish the RF link between the BTS and theantennae or TMAs. The feeders are in cable tray, near the radio cabinet, ready to be connected. A female 7/16 connector equips each feeder end.

The feeder interconnections shall comply with outdoor constraints(waterproofing...).

On the BTS side, the feeders should arrive as close as possible to thecabinet mounting location (the number of feeders depends on theconfiguration type) in order:

To allow an easier installation: depends on the size of feeder used, itmight be very difficult to position correctly the feeder in front of theRF connector on BTS side.

To avoid excessive efforts on the RF connector on the BTS side: riskof damage to the connectors.

    To allow easier maintenance operation.

The Cable used for feeder should have a maximum attenuation of6.99dB/100m at 2300Mhz. Couple connector losses = 0.2dBmax.

    4.5.6 Lightning Protection

All the site must be protected against direct lightning strikes. The sitemust be equipped with a lightning conductor on top. For lighteningprotection it is important that the radio lines from the antenna to thecabinet are regularly grounded with grounding kit (see Figure 25).

The antenna ports of the cabinet can be protected with a gas tube surgearrestor (optional).

Note: In case TMA is employed, the site should be equipped withspecific surge arrestor as gaz tub in order to avoid short circuitbetween the inner and outer connector of feeder (the TMA issupplied in DC voltage thanks to its RF cables).

The cabinet also includes a surge arrestor for induced current surge onthe AC Main power supply.

    4.5.7 Radio Cables Types

    RF Jumpers

The antenna feeders arrive as close as possible to the BTS cabinet

mounting location; the interconnection between the feeders and jumpersis done outside.

The number of feeders depends on the combiner type and on the numberof sectors.

The feeder interconnections shall comply with outdoor constraints(waterproofing...).

The radio feeders are coming from the antenna mast. They must beprotected at the ground level by a metallic cable tray (to avoid damagepossibly caused by ice blocks falling from the top of the mast).

    Peculiarities of RF Links

The RF jumpers are optional. The BTS should be connected to thefeeders via RF jumpers, the minimum bending radius should complywith the space available below the cabinet, in plinth space.

The jumper connector should be straight, Male, DIN 7/16 for a key 32mm (hexagonal head).
