Human Capital Management Common Settings1 Purpose

This configuration guide provides the information that you need to manually set up configuration of this building block.

If you do not want to configure manually and prefer to use an automated installation process using BC sets and other tools, refer to the Quick Guide.

2 Preparation

2.1 Prerequisites

Before you start installing this building block, you must install prerequisite building blocks. For more information, see the Building Block Prerequisite Matrix, located on the documentation package on the Technical Content Library page.3 Configuration

3.1 Creating Personnel Area

Use

In this step, you assign personnel areas. The personnel area is an organizational unit that represents a specific area of the enterprise and is organized according to aspects of personnel, time management, and payroll. A personnel area is divided into several personnel subareas.

ProcedureCarry out the following steps:

1. Access the activity using one of the following navigation options:

2. In the Choose Activity dialog box, choose Personnel areas.

3. On the Change View Personnel Areas: Overview screen, choose New Entries.

Use

In this step, you assign personnel subareas. A personnel subarea is an organizational unit that represents a specific area of the company organized according to certain aspects of personnel, time management, and payroll.

ProcedureCarry out the following steps:

1. Access the activity using one of the following navigation options:

2. In the IMG activities overview dialog box, choose Human Resources definition |Personnel subareas.3. In the Choose Activity dialog box, choose Create Personnel subareas.

4. In the Determine Work Area: Entry dialog box, enter the Personnel Area (see list), and choose Enter.

5. On the Change View Personnel Area/Subarea: Overview screen, choose New Entries.

The Company Number, East / West Indicator and Municipal No. is provided for all combinations of Personnel Area and Personnel Subarea.3.4 Employee Subgroups

UseThe employee subgroup represents a subdivision of the employee group. When you define employee subgroups, you are essentially beginning to set up your personnel structure.Procedure

1. Access the activity using one of the following navigation options:

3.5 Assign Employee Subgroup to employee group

UseIn this step, you assign your employee subgroups to their respective employee groups. In addition, you determine whether the employee group/employee subgroup combinations are allowed for the country groupings.

Procedure

3.6 Set Up Infotyp 0000 (Actions) Feature NUMKRUse

In this step, you use the feature NUMKR, to determine whether you want to use internal or external number assignment when hiring new employees and if so, you can determine for which HR master records it is to be used.

Procedure

1. Access the activity using one of the following navigation options:

3.7 Set Up Transport Connection

Use

In the following process, you deactivate the inheritance of the company code for the creation of the organizational structure in HCM Organizational Management.

Procedure

2. On the Maintain Table Views: Initial Screen, in the Table/View, enter T77S0 and choose Maintain.3. On the Change View "System Table": Overview screen, choose Position to find the following entries. Update Value abbr of the following data:GroupSem.abbr.Value abbr.Description

4. Save your entries.Result

The inheritance for the company code regarding the HCM Organizational Data has been deactivated. PD integration is properly configured and automatic transport of HR objects is disabled.

3.8 Maintain number range intervals for personnel numbers

Use

In this step, the number ranges of personnel number assignment are defined.

Procedure
