Since its establishment in 1926, the ISEKI Group has pursued creative research with a mission to "contribute to society through agricultural machinery" with the phylosophy of its founder "trying to liberate farmers from their heavy labor" as the starting point. The spirit as the engineer" to market ideas", "to exert all technical potential", "always being one step ahead of the competitors" and "to be totally dedicated to product phylosophy" has been continually passed down to our techical experts to this day. Making full use of all our accumulated technical potential, we will continue to contribute to agriculture both in Japan and around the world by providing products that satisfy our customers.

Japanese agriculture is currently undergoing structural changes including dwindling farming population and aging, large-scale farming through the aggregation of farmland, shifting to dry-field farming and vegetable crops. In order to keep up with these changes, we will conduct proactive business activities both from tangible and intangible perspectives, i.e., provision of high-quality products using advanced technologies such as ICT and robot technology with superb cost performance as well as agricultural technologies useful for saving/low-cost farming and proposals relevant to diverse range of crops of vegetable production.

For overseas markets, we have provided products mainly for landscape maintenance and light civil engineering work for the European market and products centering on rice cultivation for the Chinese/ASEAN markets where the need for expanded food production is in the rise. In the end of 2018, we concluded the technical and business alliance agreement with TAFE, the second largest agricultural machinery manufacturer in India which is the biggest tractor market in the world. Through our alliance with the company, we will enhance our capacity to respond to customer needs.

We consider that these engagements will lead to our contribution to the "Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)" common to the world.

The form of R&D has changed greatly such as introduction of ICT and advanced technology like robot technology as well as activation of external collaborations including industry-government-academia partnership, and the role assumed by intellectual properties is becomming significant increasingly. We will promote R&D based on the trinity of development/manufacturing/sales and acquire rights of resultant intellectual properties leading to our business development.

ISEKI Group celebrates its 95th anniversary of foundation this year. In this booklet, we report our history of R&D and intellectual properties to date as well as our way of thinking, activities and accomplishments, etc. It is our great pleasure if it helps your understanding of the commitments by the ISEKI Group.

ISEKI products which have responded to needs of the society creating innovations.ISEKI which has closely supported agriculture is

continuing its path.We have committed to establishment of integrated

system of rice crop mechanization, as well as mechanization of vegetable production.

Also, we promote gloval development taking advantage of unique technology of ISEKI Group nurtured in Japan.

Spirit of ISEKI -Trying to liberate farmers from their heavy labor-Our founder Kunisaburo Iseki strived to

develop agriculture by labor saving through mechanization of the severe farming work which had depended on manual labor and animal power, with a wish to "liberate farmers from heavy labor".

Wish of the founder who continued to stick to provision of agricultural machinery that would be appreciated by customers since the founding as "Make "excellent products" that can be praised by customers" has been inherited continually to present as the "Spirit of ISEKI".

At the IGTC, we receive trainees from sales subsidiaries and overseas to educate with an aim to nurture global human resources trying to enhance technical services. We also opened training course specialized for heavy machines and smart agricultural machinery in response to changes in the market and the needs.

Human ResourceDevelopment

We consider it essential to "nurture talent" in order to exert comprehensive capabilities in R&D. For the

purpose, we have established training centers for respective division of development, manufacturing and sales

to nurture specialists in each field.

At the ITTC, we provide training with an aim to nurture leaders at manufacturing bases in Japan and overseas as well as skill enhancement at manufacuring sites and nurturing of young workers.

We implement "manufacturing leader training course" to enhance fundamental knowledge of overall manufacturing and professional skills of welding, coating, etc., and hold "skill contest" to make them compete results of our education.

■Technology Research Presentation

ISEKI Group holds Technology Research Presentation every

year. It has been held 30 times in total trying to raise the level of

ISEKI Group as a whole by sharing results of R&D and invention

information as well as by accumulating deligent studies through

mutual efforts to improve through debates.

At the IETC, we engage in development of talents with an aim to enhance design technique of young designing engineers and specialized technique of mainstay engineers.

In the "traning of integrated system of rice crop mechanization", one of the training courses, by giving experience to engineers a series of farming opertions and machine operation , from soil preparaton to drying preparation not limiting to the model in charge, we lead them to manufacturing with perspectives of our customers.
