We are very proud to provide this year’s fundraiser heifer. The female we have donated is a female that is backed by 2 powerful cow families. Stemming from the HF Evening Tinge cow and backed by the Oakleaf cow and Harvestor. We feel this female will make a great junior prospect and a strong long-term female in anyone’s herds.
OBI LIVESTOCK LTD.
I would like to thank again the club and all the supporters of this event last year; your commitment and loyalty in this sale is second to none. If myself or any member of the sale staff can assist you, please feel free to call us or better yet come down to the sale on November 16 at Camrose.
It has been a very trying year for the folks up here, with the amount of rain we had. June 1 wasn’t looking so good at all and it rained that fine day; and never stopped in a lot of areas making this fall a very trying one for all. As the tours commenced though, the enthusiasm shown by the consignors was so positive because one thing the cattle had was lots of green grass and looked so good on the pastures. The offering this year consists of new and exciting bloodlines with the top cow families from each of the herds displayed.
Again, it is my pleasure to be working with the Northern Alberta Angus Club in the 41st Annual Sale at Camrose. Shane and I have toured all the farms this year and believe the cattle on offer are from the top of each of the consignor’s herds.
Always a testament to this group. The sale has seen so many great animals come through this ring and will continue because of how the consignors believe selling their finest is a priority to have success in the business.
Mark Holowaychuk
When writing this, again, this year was hard to do; I have to thank Dennis Ericson for his services for 40 years at the sale. He is a man of honor, loyalty and a breed leader in this industry. When you see him at the sale, take a minute to thank him for everything he has done for this event.

MWC GI JOE 1G is a Werner Flat Top bull calf that we have been campaigning this fall on the show road. He will be at Lloydminster, Farmfair and Agribition. Werner Flat Top 4136 is admired by all who see him and will add eye-catching phenotype without sacrificing performance and growth. His dam, 7Y is a cow we have flushed successfully with 19 live calves on the ground in the past 2 years. She is the dam of the Baldridge Bronc flush that gave us the majority of our show string last year. GI JOE 1G himself is big bodied, soft made, large topped, good footed, great hair coat and built correctly herdsire prospect that has a lot of cattleman talking about him this fall. Backed up by some very impressive numbers as well.

No guess work when it comes to maternal power here a female that will make a great cow bred to the very exciting AI sire Musgrave 316 Stunner.
Very neat, moderate. Fancy, soggy Stunner daughter out of a great maternally bred Ten Speed daughter. Few generations of easy calving heifer bulls bred into this girl. A heifer we think will make a great show heifer or top end breeding female.

SERVICE: EXPOSED TO AVELYN EPIC 05'17 MARCH 23 TO JUNE 1 2019. DUE IN JAN 2020.Avelyn Lady 31'18 is a feature bred from us here at Avelyn. With great sires like Gumbo Gulch Creed 94S and Young Dale Xcaliber 32X on both sides of the pedigree I can assure you she has been a hot topic of much discussion by the crew here asking the question " Why would you sell her?" The answer is simple. The great ones sell themselves. She carries a ton of power and is as long spined as we could possibly desire. She feminine and fancy fronted with a disposition I would like to breed into all of our females. She carries service to our Epic bull who should add that lower dimension and quarter that we have seen in his first crop of offspring this past spring.
Avelyn Lady 031G is a very attractive heifer that has been an eye catcher all summer long! Thick and stout with massive rib shape yet still that fanciness and feminity that helps your eyes spot her every time you are in the pasture. Her sire Avelyn Epic 05'17 is a son of the DMM Stache 72Z and his Legendary mother DMM Miss Essence 61W who had an illustrious show career in their time. The dam of this heifer traces back 3 generations to MJLC Lady 8S. This cow I would dare say is our most productive purchase out of the Northern Select sale ever without a doubt!! From top selling bulls to several females retained in herd through the generations. This cow family flat out works. Don't miss the opportunity to own one today.
Here is another Avelyn Apollo Creed 94C daughter. She is a direct daughter out of our highly productive as well as number one embryo donor cow 707W. This heifer expresses great angularity and femininity in her profile. She is sharp and sweet headed as they come. Creed 94C has added a great set of female daughters to our herd with great extension and added length as well as some of the most correct udders we have bred for to date. With Sitz Alliance 6595 in the Grandams pedigree and Kruggerand 410H in the dam’s side there is a lot of maternal power here in a young female. Jr's and fellow breeders alike take a look here. She will be an asset to any program.

SERVICE: A.I. ON APRIL 22 TO BALDRIDGE BRONC. EXPOSED FROM MAY 21 TO JULY 1 TO ALLANDALE SEEDSTOCK 41F. SAFE TO A.I. FOR A JAN 29 CALF. We can’t go the Northern Select without taking a Rosebud from our herd. They are also a top end cow family at the farm. 17Z has raised us 2 daughters in herd and 3 bulls sold commercially. 38F is a very angular, smooth fronted female that also is carrying a Baldridge Bronc coupon. There is a Bronc here today in the catalog and check her out to see what you can get from this mating.
Cajun WFT Lady Bate 18G is an attractive feminine daughter of Werner Flat Top 4136, the calving ease sire who is delivering exceptional growth and eye-catching appeal through herds in North America. Fancy fronted and balanced, 18G demonstrates depth of rib and good muscle pattern throughout. Her dam sired by Shipwheel Montana was purchased at the 2015 edition of the Northern Select has proven to be well on her way to be an excellent mother cow. Easy fleshing with lots of eye appeal, 18G will be a great addition to any herd consistently producing top end calves.
A daughter of Werner Flat Top out of an EXAR Upshot cow, 21G is definitely front pasture material. Very feminine, loads of capacity, long spined and thick, 21G screams mother cow. Maternal strength is braided throughout 21G’s pedigree, the maternal EPD’s place her in the top ten percent of the breed which if you viewed the dam of 21G you would have no doubt. A moderate framed female, the dam of 21G is a picture-perfect cow with a flawless udder and tremendous capacity. Her individual performance, her phenotype and her pedigree make her as close to a no miss female as you can get.

11G is one of the most complete heifers we have ever raised! She is moderate in structure, wide-topped with a well-muscled hind quarter and as SWEET as they come. This heifer has it all! Her Mother, 56C, is a Northern Select Graduate and has done very well for us. You can never have too many Motives and she is one that is hard to part with. We are confident Miss Essence 11G will accomplish great things at her new home!
22G is a true brood cow in the making. Her Sire, Ellingson Homegrown, has given us a great group of heifers and bulls this year. She is definitely one of the top-end in this AI Sire group. Her Dam, 31Z, has done a terrific job for us with 3 females retained in the herd, 1 herd bull working at Pedersen Livestock and 2 other bulls working for commercial producers. She is one you would love to have a herd of. Make sure you check out this exceptional daughter of hers!
This Charlo daughter is one that has been labelled “Tanky” all summer by visitors. Her Dam, 4C, is one that is a favorite with her temperament and great udder structure. When you combine her genetic make-up with the Coleman Donna cow family on the paternal side, this heifer is sure to be a strong asset to any herd. With one daughter retained in our herd, we decided to let this amazing heifer go to the Northern Select for your appraisal. Take advantage of this golden opportunity!

SERVICE: A.I. TO ELLINGSON TOP SHELF 5050 ON APRIL 15.
Country Lane Royal Lass 3F is one of those heifers that I am not too sure why I agreed to let her sell. Like Rob used to tell me, “You have to sell the good ones too.” So here she is...this Sweetheart is an absolute beauty. She has tremendous neck extension and carries that length throughout her body. Her Dam was purchased in Brooking’s Open Invitational Sale as a heifer calf from Riverfront Angus. She has not disappointed with this first daughter. Her Sire, SAV Sensation 5615, stems back to the great SAV Blackcap May 4136, that has produced over $8.6 million in progeny sales. She is carrying service to Ellingson Top Shelf 5050 and this combination is sure to produce something Special!
SAFE TO A.I. DATE. Country Lane Royal Lass 28G is a maternal sister to 3F. When you see both of these daughters, all you can say is “Consistency”. 28G exemplifies a lot of the same qualities as her sister. She has an attractive front end, with loads of depth, shape of body, and natural thickness. Her sire, Ellingson Homegrown 6035, has done a remarkable job on his first set of calves. They come out with lots of natural thickness and have continued to grow throughout the summer. 28G’s Dam continues to impress me as she keeps on producing the good ones. She carries the same traits as those of her daughters along with a great set of feet and legs and a near perfect udder. Because she is young in years and knowing that she is having another heifer calf next year, are the only reasons that I am allowing both of these tremendous females on offer. Juniors be sure to check this Darling out!

Red Cinder Freyja 129G is just a March 12th baby and quite a female. She is a sweet fronted, long bodied daughter of Red 9 Mile Franchise, an outcross bull to anything in Canada. Her mother, Red Cinder Freyja 29Y is a Red Lonestone Pursuit 81W daughter that is an Elite Dam; she has raised many high sellers and show toppers for us including last year’s Red Round-Up Futurity Calf Champion that sold for $9,000 to Jordan Dorrance. 129G also traces back on the dam side to the 2018 Farmfair and Agribition Champion; pretty proven genetics. If you want to drag a heifer or a cornerstone cow this heifer calf is something special.

Red Cinder Mabel 4G is another well made female with some added performance. Her dam has been classified as a Premier Dam and has proven herself year after year. We have 2 daughters working in our herd and last year’s daughter sold in the Northern Sale to the Eremko family. Mabel 4G is an easy fleshing, eye catching daughter of Red Goad High Roller; a well natured, big muscled bull. High Roller was the Red Round-Up 2017 Futurity Champion as well as the breed Legends Champion the same year. 4G is deep, dark cherry red and structurally sound in her makeup.
Red Cinder Mabel 114G is a thick made, big topped daughter of Red Cinder Ink’d 393E. Ink’d was our high seller in the 2018 On Target Bull Sale to Koberstein Farms. He has really stamped our calves and will have some powerful sons in the 2020 On Target Bull Sale. Mabel has a great disposition and would love any 4-H or Junior Member to drag her around. A soft made female from a great cow family.
Red Cinder Lisa 6G is a long, smooth made female out of a Red Cinder Smartin’ Up 132P daughter that has a great udder and is super deep ribbed. 6G’s sire is Red Bitteroot Gold 25XA, very rare now a days. A little old school breeding with a solid foundation female backing her. A good little Junior project for any eager 4-H kid.

I hope you own a spot light because this heifer belongs under one. A real sweet looking show heifer, she has tons of depth, with and power with a fancy front. She comes out of a functional cow family that has been known for having strong production and longevity. As an added bonus she is out of Dwajo Really Windy who has been doing great things on the farm, making for great heifer bulls and outstanding females. 90G’s dam 124B has produced a bull hat we sold in our bull sale to Murray & Cindy Kalbfleisch and a heifer we sold in the Northern Sale to Steve Hodgetts. I am keeping a bred heifer that is a full sister to this heifer for myself. But really, I don’t need to write about this heifer because all stars shine in the dark.
I don’t sell Erica’s. The last Erica I sold was in 2014 in the Northern Select sale to Dennis Patrick in BC for $6,000. So, to put things mildly I really really like this cow family. This is my foundational cow family, if it was up to me all my cows would be Dwajo Jes Erica cows. 79G’s mother 72B, has been a phenomenal dam. She is deep bodied, smooth fronted and has a wicked udder. 72B has had 4 calves: 1st calf was a heifer bull that we sold in our bull sale, 2nd calf is a female I kept for myself which has raised her first calf this year; her bull calf is in the show pen and had weaned off at 912lbs. 72B’s third calf was high selling black angus bull in our on target bull sale this past spring. He sold for $12,000 to Lake Road Angus. And now you have the opportunity to get in on this lineage with her 4th calf. If you have any questions on 79G or 72B or what any of my other Erica cows have done, please ask I can talk for hours about this cow family.
A real nice March bred heifer that is hard to give up. Really Windy is leaving us some really good replacements in our herd. 44X has produced daughters to Johnson Livestock, bull to Neil Letts and a couple of daughters in herd to which one is a full sister to 125F. The Countess cow family has been in our herd since 1993 ever since we purchased one from Get-A-Long where the good ones come from. With Windy and Countess in her pedigree, guarantee producer here.

A Paternal sister to Lot 24; the Windy’s are making great females, easy doing, nice fronted and great udders. 91G has that great top, good hip that would look great on a show halter for those juniors looking to be at the top end of the class. The Evening Tinge cow family has been producing for us for along time. 91G could be one the best; another very tough one to let go.
One of the first Red TC Night Train 26E calves to sell. We purchased 26E from TC Reds where he was their lead off bull in the Reserve Champion Pen of three at the Denver Stock Shows. The dam 6Y has been one of our top producers; with having 2 Reserve Champion Intermediate Bulls at Farmfair. 1 daughter also sold to RSL Red Angus. We have not even talked about 9G, who is quiet, stout and volume to spare. Looking for a heifer to hang a halter on or produce some top end calves with a different twist on paper, Amber 9G is the one.
Long neck, smooth fronted plus volume makes her quite the Honey. Honey’s granddam came from the good folks at Lone Stone. We only got 3 calves out of 12X as she got injured. 31G is a paternal sister to Lot 26 which has the same traits, volume, easy doing and good to work around. Honey 31G will be a very Sweet deal for a junior or just a brood cow for you.

This cross has always worked for us, they consistently fall to the top of the pen year after year. 214F has brood cow written all over her. This female is one of the most powerfully made females we have ever brought to town. You truly have to appreciate her length, power, and the potential this female shows.
SERVICE: A.I. ON APRIL 2 TO EATHINGTON SUBZERO (SAFE)
22F is an easy keeping, sharp fronted “Vision” daughter with a beautiful Angus head. She has a nice wide hip with the look of a cow. Her dam, 222T, has been a top producing Tank daughter with 3 sons through our bull sale and one daughter in Russia. This heifer will be her third daughter through the northern sale, one of those being a top heifer selling to Neil Cook last year for $6500. She also had a top selling daughter through our bull sale who went on to produce our second high selling heifer this spring to Hardy Fischer for $7000. 222T is on the short list to enter the donor pen next spring. I cannot say enough good about the Unanimous 743B daughters after calving out two calf crops. Exceptional udder quality and teat placement, in a nice moderate, easy keeping package.

Well, here is a pedigree from the past at Everblack. The original Traveling Lucy was a Northern graduate from the 90’s. 65F’s fifth dam would be the mother of Everblack Masterplan 007, who was a strong female producing herdsire at Dwajo and Minburn Angus. She is a typical U2 NightTrain daughter; Long spined, deep bodied, with a nice neck extension and a ton of hair. They are making very nice momma cows. 65F is bred to the $43,000 calving ease sire Bar H Money Made 1D. We have two calf crops off of him so far and they are light at birth with good early growth, long spines and a nice clean front end. An easy calving dream. Due to calve mid February.

When we sat down and tried to figure out who we should flush our best cow to we figured using the hottest AI sire that year was bound to be a sure bet. 5G turned out to be exactly what we expected. This flashly little lady has that look at me presence, you will have to appreciate the length and power this female exhibits. This heifer will make a great junior show female and when finished go out and make a front pasture type of cow.
59G stems from one of the Original cows I purchased from YOLO Angus when we decided to get into Red Angus. This February heifer is solid made, deep sided female. Her dam is one of my top females stemming from one of my top cow families, crossed with the Cat bull who is consistently making us top end females. This sweetheart heart of a female is definitely one to check out on sale day.

SERVICE: A.I. ON MAY 14 TO RED TER-RON MONOPOLY 84A. EXPOSED TO RED T-K STRATEGIC DECISION 57E FROM JUNE 6 TO JULY 23. Lady 5F is a daughter of Red Brylor Red Kodiak 3A; the outcross calving ease sire and a first calving daughter of Northline Fat Tony 605U. She is a moderate framed, easy doing female. She is safe by ultrasound to Red Ter-Ron Monopoly 84A; another easy calving bull.
When Mark walked through the pasture and saw the calves from Red T-K Strategic Decision 57E; he had to have one for the sale. This was his pick. Broody fancy and growthy is the best way to describe this heifer. Her Hammerdown mother has done a good job on this one.
Another daughter of Red T-K Strategic Decision 57E; thick, broody and easy doing describes this heifer. She has a tank for a mother. Ruby has some well-known bulls in her pedigree namely Ribeye and Fully Loaded. She should be a good one.

GSR 14G comes right from our Get-A-Long Bayberry 99S cow that is still walking the pastures at home and has given us 4 females for us; one going to Lane Steen from Dundurn, SK. Bayberry 99S walked the pastures at KBJ in her first part of her life. Her dam, Red Wheel Monopoly 85C has been a very consistent breeder for us and many daughters will be kept in the herd. 14G is a fancy fronted female that is well made with a good hair coat with lots of dimension.
Red Crowfoot Avril 200X is a donor cow at Golden Sunset. She produced 4 full brothers to 30G is our Bull Sale this past March and they were a very good set of bulls topping out at $7500. 25C pictured here is a maternal sister to 30G and she is one of our top young cows at the ranch. 30G herself has a great temperament with loads of capacity and length. She is the front pasture type of female.
SERVICE: A.I. ON APRIL 8 TO RED SSS MASTER 559C. EXPOSED FROM APRIL 15 TO JUNE 5 TO BAR-E-L LIBERTY 166F. SAFE TO A.I. DATE FOR A JAN 15 CALF. HRH 98F is a real hard one to let go of. She is the natural daughter from our flush cow Red KBJ Lassie 1080A. Lassie has been nothing short of amazing for us, having impeccable feet and a great udder with ample milk. her first flush was terrific and she bred right back to have this bred. Lassie 1080A was the high selling Red female in the highly successful KBJ dispersal and her bull calf at side
that day sold to T-K Ranch, and later sold for $25,000 in their dispersal last fall. I could write a novel on this cow family, but let’s just say "they flat out work". The sire to 98F is once again our highly maternal, female building, Zeppelin herdbull, who, as always, put out another great female in this bred.

HRH Lucy 76F is also a hard one to part with. we have only ever let 1 Lucy leave our yard, and she went to the great herd of Shoal Creek Angus, as his pick of our calves. The matriarch of this family is still here producing great at almost 12 years old, and she still has absolutely perfect feet and udder. Lucy 8035U has been flushed and has sold great bulls into herds such as Shoal Creek, Clegg Angus, B N Ranches and more. The outcross sire to 76F, CAR Efficient 694, may be largely unknown to a lot of people, but has made some great females that I have been able to witness first hand, both here and at KBJ, as Jim and I (Ryan) can attest to.
SERVICE: EXPOSED APRIL 1 TO JUNE 5 TO BAR-E-L LIBERTY 166F. OBSERVED BRED APRIL 7. SAFE TO THAT DATE AND ULTRASOUNDED FOR A HEIFER CALF.
HRH 70G is a deep bodied, feminine, daughter of HA Prime Cut 4493 and from a beautiful cow we purchased here as a bred heifer, from the great people at Pedersen Livestock. HRH 70G has had many admirers at pasture tours this summer, and will become a great addition to any herd. A full sister to the dam of 70G was one of the bred heifers that was high seller in last fall’s Northern Select sale.
HRH 62G has all the makings of a great cow already, and her dam has been a stellar producer for us every year. A full sister to 62G was the high selling Red heifer in this very sale in 2017. And a maternal brother was also our high selling bull this spring. The sire of this great female is our mainstay herdbull Red Towaw Zeppelin 499B. He has left us an unbelievable set of heifers over the years. The homework is already done on this female, buy with confidence.

127G is a heifer who comes from one of our most productive and proven cow families. She’s a moderate framed, correct, well balanced female who still has plenty of capacity and power. Her dam and Grand Dam were both shown successfully in 4-H and at Junior Shows not to mention, the Dam is a moderate second calver who has a real correct udder with lots of milking ability and produced one of our top bulls last year. Her granddam was my first purchase from grandpa and the foundation of my herd. All of Rosebud Cub 31Y’s (granddam) progeny to date have made the cut to be retained in the herd as replacement females or the bull pen. 127G is a heifer who is backed by promising genetics and the phenotype to prove that she has a promising future ahead of her. Completely show broke and would make an exceptional 4-H or junior show project or a great addition to any replacement heifer pen.
8G is a female who has been a standout heifer since the beginning and one who will certainly catch your attention for her good looks. She is a deep bodied, bold sprung female who packs a lot of punch. Her sire was our pick of the 2016 bull sale season and has now been used heavily to improve foot structure and performance in our herd. 8G seems to have been stamped with the Resource style of depth, muscle expression structural correctness. Completely show broke and would make an exceptional 4-H or junior show project or a great addition to any replacement heifer pen.
41G is a moderate, smooth made Resource daughter. She's an extremely long spined and elegant fronted female who comes from a proven cow. She ranks in the top 10% for weaning weight EPD’s and the top 15% for yearling weight not to mention she’s also a daughter of the high performing Little Valley Resource 6C who ranks in the top 1% for both weaning and yearling weights. We have had one full brother and one maternal brother sold as bulls and numerous maternal sisters were top females in our replacement pen that have now gone on to be exceptional cows. Completely show broke and would make an exceptional 4-H or junior show project or a great addition to any replacement heifer pen.

Opportunity knocks here! 23G could be one of very few Nexus 1378 daughters available through the fall sale season. Nexus semen is off the open market in Canada so genetic chances like this are rare. 23G is an E.T. daughter out of Stacey 63Y a cow that had an unfortunately short but very productive life at Lucky 7 and couldn't seem to leave any daughters behind. She's the dam to Simon Says 63A; a red carrier SAV Pioneer 7301 son that we raised and used exclusively in our program who is now working at Handhills Colony. 23G is our youngest heifer on offer but certainly gives nothing up to her pen mates. She's blood red, angular fronted and has all the presence to 'woo' the room. Hang a halter on her, then let her be a cow!
When Mark was out to tour this summer, we opened up the heifer pen and nothing was off limits. The '400' line had many heifers catch his eye. The maternal great grand dam to this heifer was one of Stacey's first red females ever purchased from Redrich Farms. So many females have been retained from this line our cow family number system is getting confusing! The dam to this heifer 422A is a maternal powerhouse with a beautiful udder that rings the bell with every calf. Three daughters are working in herd including 422D; dam to the 452G heifer on offer. 422G is a heifer that caught our eye from early on. She's a gentle natured, nicely balanced heifer that has cow written all over her. If you're looking for maternal goodness look no further!
452G stems from our cow maker family the 'Sparkles' line. She will be the first daughter to sell out of our walking bull Electiv 233E who has done a bang-up job on his first calf crop and offers a little twist to the pedigree with Hustle 18T, Net Worth 4200, and TC Advantage back in his lines. He's our red outcross secret weapon. The dam 422D is beautifully made daughter of Vermont 79A; a red carrier Tiger 5T grandson we used with success. 452G is gentle natured just like her dam and is sure to be a pen greeter for her new owner. If you're looking for red hided with a genetic twist here she is!

17G is a stellar product from a black-hided first-calver, Superior 170E. The Superior line traces back to the great Dwajo Superior 4H cow who was a donor for Soo-Line and at one-time- a staple in the Canadian red angus industry. Her sire, Goodfella, has been our best Red Angus purchase to date. He was a multiple division winner in Denver, but more importantly has left us with moderate framed, highly maternal daughters beautiful in their phenotype and udder composition. Goodfella progeny are commonly noted for being wedge shaped calving ease options with an abundance of hair. Maternal grandsire, HF Transit 3C was one of the top sellers from Hamilton’s in spring of 2016 and has left us with a set of very functional, performance-oriented females.17G is a long-spined beauty admired for her muscle shape through her lower third and stifle. She is an extremely balanced female, nice hearted, and capacious in her fore-rib, correct on her feet and legs- exhibiting ideal hind leg structure. 17G is a maternal
LCL LUCY 20F is a Defender daughter, out of the heart of our herd. We flushed her grand dam and great grand dam. She is a moderate frame with a super disposition. One of those females that checks a lot of boxes.

The Northern Select Sale to date, has been the only female sale we take part in as consignors. As a result, Rosebud 9G comes straight off the top as OBI's #1 pick. This calf is arguably the best from both our flushes to the $47,500 Brooking Real Estate. Real Estate was our pick of the Brooking bulls when touring in the spring of 2017. Real Estate is calving ease oriented, huge ribbed, square hipped and his dam, Rose 1019, fits the definition of pure perfection. Rosebud 32Y exhibits a balanced and feminine phenotype. She is an ideal cow in terms of her capacity, udder composition, and foot quality. Without a doubt, she has earned her spot as lead donor at our place based on her track record of being a highly consistent and heritable producer. One daughter, BIB 232D, was a past Northern sale highlight and went on to be a multiple division winner for MWC Investments. Rosebud 9G is a model Angus female for the future. Like her lineage would dictate, she exhibits a lot of rib, capacity, and is stamped with that ‘cowy’, maternal look. Rosebud 9G is a deep flanked, long-spined individual who remains free moving and true to her Angus character.

MWC Rosebud 10G is a Baldridge Bronc daughter that we will have out on the show road this fall. Come by the stall at Lloydminster and Farmfair to see her in the flesh. She will also be entered in Agribition and we would show her there if the new owner would like. The Bronc x Rosebud progeny at MWC are a combination that has worked very well for us. Many of visitors have seen the bred heifers and what they look like. Just how we imagined them to look like. We have a full sister retained in the herd. Powerful, big boned and ribbed with the ability to become future top end females in our herd. 10G herself is a good footed, well made, straight topped female that traces back to the Rosebud Cow Family from Crescent Creek. 3Z Goes back to our 71T that we flushed very successfully. A lot of great cows backing up Rosebud 10G.

Sparkles is one from the top of the bred heifer pen. She is a moderate framed female that has some length of spine and correctness in her structure. Sparkles has great muscle expression and is clean through the front end giving her ideal eye appeal. Her sire, Duke has produced some good progeny that have went on to make good momma cows. Don’t let her shorter tail bother you as she will be a great addition to one’s herd. Will pay for DNA kit for calf.

11G is a very sweet made heifer out of our newest herdsire, Red LWNBRG Harvestor 46E. Urisal has length of spine and is correct in her make up. She is a moderate framed female out of great producing cow that was bought out of the Chickadee dispersal a few years back. This first crop of Harvestor calves are getting us excited about the future. Urisal 11G will be one to look at on sale day. Aug 21 Wt: 590 lbs. She has been entered at Olds Fall Classic.
Tested is a big bodied and growthy heifer. Ever since birth she hasn’t missed a beat. She has good potential to be a nice broody producing female. 28G is dark red in color and sound in her structure. Tested is out of our newest herdsire, Harvestor 46E and has not disappointed. Don’t hesitate to have a look at this powerful female. Aug 21 Wt: 733 lbs. She has been entered at Olds Fall Classic.

Here is a female that is very sound structured and has a lot of overall dimension and volume. When Mark was out doing selections; ironically, he had this heifer as well as her full sister on his selection list. We decided to let this wonderful female go but couldn’t quite let go of both. We had 6F’s mother out a few falls ago with a monster bull calf along side, that tells you what we think of her. When down at Denver I was very impressed by the Stevenson Turning Point progeny and having her mated and confirmed to an early service to this exciting sire should only add value. Look for an early return on investment on this female.
SERVICE: A.I. ON MARCH 31 TO STEVENSON TURNING POINT. EXPOSED APRIL 13 TO JULY 1 TO COUNTRY LANE JUST DO IT 8D. SAFE TO A.I. DATE FOR AN EARLY JAN CALF.
It is not often that we let our ET females go to sale, especially not out of our deceased Undiscovered 3U Donor. One of the greatest females to ever grace the river hills at the ranch, 3U, left her mark producing some great herd sires and females that are stamped with her added rib shape, muscle and hair. This terrific female is one that we feel will find some friends. She is a pleasure to be around and is our type; easy fleshing, soft made and efficient. We think an awful lot of this sweetheart and Quinn has chosen one of her flush mates as her 4-H heifer this year, the heifers are like peas in a pod.
A terrific heifer with a little added growth to her. She is extra long spined and has that cow look to her already. We sold a maternal sister to her last year to Schmidt’s as our high selling calf at $5,000. This heifer follows her very similar in design; one that combines the best of both sides of her pedigree. We purchased her sire, Just Do It, a Justified son, from Partingtons as a calving ease specialist but have been so pleased with the calves he has moved on to cover the cow herd as well. Both her sire and dam are as sure footed and sound structured as you could ask for. This young lady is built to last and will be around for a long time. Juniors take a serious look here!

Angel has been the type of heifer that was always easy to pick out in the pasture for all the right reasons. The Angel cow family has been a strong one dating back to the 11P cow purchased from the Hips Dispersal, and on the paternal side she is as strong as it gets being out of Longitude and her dam being a YY Designer daughter who has many top cows producing in our herd and her Grand dam being by a Smash son we purchased from Lazy MC Angus. Yet the most exciting part we feel about this heifer might be her mating to our new herd bull Wyoming, we acquired this spring from RSL Red Angus that serviced a large part of our heifers this spring, don’t miss this brood cow prospect.
SERVICE: EXPOSED FROM APRIL 15 TO JULY 1 TO RED RSL WYOMING 128E. OBSERVED BRED APRIL 28. SAFE TO THIS DATE.
A very attractive moderate female that you have to appreciate for her overall look. Her young mother has developed into a great little cow. From the first calf crop off of Wilbar Limit who is definitely leaving his mark here. His calves are big footed with extra muscle shape to them. Here is a pedigree that reads with loads of maternal greats such as Pioneer, Unforgiven, Alaskan, and Capacity where can you go wrong?
Sierra has been a standout from day one and has always been one to catch your eye and keep it drawing back too her. She is out of none other then the Red Angus Gold Show Bull of the year Red DKF Racer 8E who did a great job being an AI sire at our place last year. Her dam 88X has been designated elite since 2017 with 5 top sons selling in our previous bull sales and her only daughter retained in the herd who weaned off a top bull prospect for 2020 on her first go. Sierra is one that has the look to compete as a show heifer (being named Grand Champion Senior Heifer Calf at the 2019 Olds Fall Classic), and we know she is going to turn into a great cow.

This heifer is not one you want to miss out on. She is out our Red KBJ Limitless 1080D bull we purchased at the KBJ Dispersal Sale. He has left his mark on his females in our herd. The 1080’s at Jim Round place were always one to try to obtain. Just ask Bob Hahn and Ryan Weiss. When you see a KBJ Lassie female in the pedigree you know she has a lot of future and value in the industry. 28F was part of the pen of 3 show in Paradise Valley where we placed First and had a lot of interest in the pen we took out. She has lots of depth, length and thickness to her.
DUE LATE JAN/EARLY FEB.
Red Poplar Grove Dallas 13X has done it again. Last year with a mating to Red Lazy MC Smash 41N and this year with a powerful Soo Line Power Eye 161X heifer calf. The only reason she is leaving the farm because we have a full sister at home and 5 more coming this January. 919G is a quiet, angular calf with loads of eye appeal. Juniors take a look! Weaning Weight of 770 lbs.
Long, quiet, dark red and full of muscle describes 904G. Her sire Lauron Amos 11A was purchased as a heifer bull but we soon realized he was more than that; a female making machine. He has produced quiet, wide hipped, angular, good footed and excellent uddered females. Bull calves never disappoint neither. The mating with 904G’s larger framed dam was a good decision. Definitely your next 4-H or show heifer. Weaning Weight of 845 lbs.

Countess 2F is a fancy made, very lengthy bred heifer with a very good presence about her in the pasture. She is out of our Johnson Livestock bull that has left us many females in the herd. Her dam is a Northern Graduate from Cajun Angus that traces back to SAV Final Answer 0035. She is bred to our new herdsire U-2 Upper Cut 280F; one of the high selling Black bull this past spring at their bull sale. He has a BW of 78, WW of 948 and YW of 1544.
SERVICE: EXPOSED FROM MAY 15 TO AUG 15 TO U-2 UPPER CUT 280F. OBSERVED BRED MAY 18. DUE FEB 25.
SERVICE: EXPOSED FROM MAY 15 TO AUG 15 TO U-2 UPPER CUT 280F. OBSERVED BRED MAY 16. DUE FEB 23.Atlanta 13F is a very powerful female with a bright future ahead of her. She carries herself so well in the pasture with keeping her feminity and style. Again, she bred to U-2 Upper Cut 280F, a bull I really admired when I was down south searching for a new herdbull. Her sire, Cudlobe Timeless 14A has done a sup job for us with many of females and bold sold out of him for us.
SERVICE: A.I. ON MAY 4 TO MUSGRAVE 316 STUNNER. EXPOSED FROM MAY 15 TO AUG 15 TO U-2 UPPER CUT 280F. SAFE TO A.I. DATE.DUE FEB 11.Misty 41F is a very interesting female with loads of middle to her, and has huge potential to be a top end female on her new home. She has loads of capacity and 2 sisters working in the herd. Again, another very useable Timeless 14A daughter. She is bred to Musgrave 316 Stunner for another bonus to this exciting lot.

Rob Holowaychuk
Last year the club decided to create this fund in memory of Rob Holowaychuk. The members involved believed the Juniors are very important each and every year as did dad. So, this year the first ever winners of the 3 - $1,000 credits to the 2019 Northern Select Sale were:
The Rob Holowaychuk Memorial Fund will be awarded as follows for the 2019 Sale:
Lane Fulks, Sarah Hodgetts and Tyler Schmidt.
3 Awards per year will be drawn to the Juniors who purchase an animal at the previous Northern Select Sale and the value will be $1000 per award and to be used for the 2020 Sale. Open to all Junior members who purchase an animal at the 2019 Northern Select Angus Sale. The winners will be notified in writing. The Sales Credit will be awarded over and above any Junior Incentives that the winners may be eligible to receive.
SERVICE: A.I. ON MARCH 28 TO BALDRIDGE BRONC. EXPOSED FROM MAY 21 TO JULY 1 TO ALLANDALE SEEDSTOCK 41F. SAFE TO A.I. FOR A JAN 5 CALF. Last year this heifer was offered up in her entirely towards the Rob Holowaychuk Memorial Fund and she commanded $8,250 selling to a number of breeders in the sale and many others as well. A great testament to all involved and we like to thank each and every one of you. So, the deal was, 42F would go back to Wayne Stetson’s place and he would breed her for us again and now she sells at the end of the sale to lucky buyer this year. Thanks again to Wayne for taking on the responsibility of her over the past year. The funds again will go towards the Memorial fund where the money will be used for the Juniors involved in the sale.
Allandale Tiptop 42F is a daughter of U2 Prime Cut 162D; he was the High Selling Black Angus Bull at the 2017 U2 Bull Sale. She is fancy fronted, powerful and will be a front-end pasture type of cow. She is in calf very early to Baldridge Bronc for an interesting coupon. We have now all seen what that lineage looks like.
