PRESIDENT’S WELCOMEWelcome to beautiful Santa Barbara! It is an

honor for me to serve as President of this

outstanding Academy and welcome you to

our 39th Annual Meeting of the American

Academy of Esthetic Dentistry!

Our Annual Meeting celebrates the mission of AAED—to promote the

integration of dental esthetics into the total spectrum of oral health care

and provide a leadership role for the profession by defining the highest

interdisciplinary clinical, scientific, artistic and ethical standards through

research, publications and educational presentations .

The theme of this year’s meeting is “The Legacy of Esthetic Dentistry .”

Throughout the next few days, over 25 internationally renowned experts will

demonstrate how the legacy of AAED’s founders and members contribute to

the innovative art and science of esthetic dentistry today as they teach us about

advances that will shape esthetic dentistry for tomorrow .

The Academy is honored to have so many distinguished members, colleagues,

friends, and guests join us for a meeting that will provide outstanding state-

of-the-science education . Enjoy the intellectually challenging and enriching

discussions both in the meeting room and poolside (sometimes the best

discussions take place poolside) that celebrate our long-standing tradition of

excellence in interdisciplinary patient care in esthetic dentistry .

At the end of this meeting, I hope you return to your practice with a renewed

commitment to excellence and interdisciplinary care as you advance the art and

science of esthetic dentistry in your own practice .

On behalf of the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, I would like to thank

our 2014 Annual Program Committee . They have worked throughout the year

to identify and address all the details required to convene a meeting of this

caliber —not only putting together an extraordinary program, but crafting an all-

around exceptional experience for our members and guests . From winery tours

to our Spanish-themed gala, attendees will have ample opportunity to enjoy the

company of their fellow attendees amid the beautiful scenery and amenities of

Southern California .
