1 necklace • Cut a piece of beading wire (Basics, p. 118). (My necklace

is 281⁄2 in./72.4cm.) On the wire, center a rhinestone rondelle, a pearl, and a rhinestone rondelle.

2 a On each end, string an alternating pattern of four gemstone rondelles

and three pearls, stringing a spacer between each bead. String a rhinestone rondelle, a pearl, and a rhinestone rondelle. b Repeat step 2a on each end.

3 On each end, string a gemstone, a spacer, a pearl, and a spacer. Repeat

until the necklace is within 1 in. (2.5cm) of the finished length.

4 On each end, string two spacers, a crimp bead, two spacers, and a jump

ring. Check the fit, and add or remove beads from each end if necessary. Go back through the last few beads strung and tighten the wire. Crimp the crimp bead and trim the excess wire.

5On one end, attach an S-hook clasp to the jump ring. Close one side of

the clasp with chainnose pliers.

1 earrings • On a head pin, string a spacer, a pearl, and a spacer.

Make the first half of a wrapped loop.

2 Cut a 11⁄4-in. (3.2cm) piece of chain. Attach the pearl unit to one end and

complete the wraps.

3 Open the loop of an earring wire. Attach the dangle and close the

loop. Make a second earring to match the first.

EDITOR’S TIPThis design also works

well as a choker. If you shorten the necklace, replace the pattern

in step 2a with an alternating pattern of three gemstone rondelles and two pearls,

stringing a spacer between each bead. This will keep the

rhinestone rondelles near the front of the necklace.
