The Delaware Sustainable Energy Utility (DESEU) is a unique non-profit organization offering a one-stop resource through its Energize Delaware initiative to help residents and businesses save money through clean energy and efficiency. The DESEU was created in 2007 by the state of Delaware to foster a sustainable energy future for the state.

Making your home or business energy efficient and protecting our environment may sound costly or complicated, but it’s not. In fact you only have to remember three things:

That’s what Energize Delaware is all about. We provide rebates, tips, low interest financing and other energy-saving solutions to residents, businesses, non-profits who want to reduce their utility bills and protect our state’s natural resources.
Green Grant Delaware Solar Thermal and Geothermal Program
Rebates are available for solar hot water and geothermal systems up to $200,000. This program is open to non-residential and non-profit customers anywhere in Delaware regardless of utility jurisdiction.
ObjectiveTo create demand for solar thermal and geothermal technologies in Delaware and grow green jobs, the Delaware Sustainable Utility (DESEU) and Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) jointly launched a new incentive program for solar hot water and geothermal systems.
General Program Limits
• Rebate up to $200,000 for either technology
• Project limit set at 80% of thermal load
• The Geothermal rebate cannot exceed 50% of the project cost
• The Solar Thermal rebate cannot exceed 30% of the project cost
GeothermalRebate Amount
• Non-residential: $800/ton for the first 2 tons and$700/ton for over 2 tons
• Non-profit: $1000/ton for the first 2 tons and$800/ton for over 2 tons
Eligibility Requirements
• Energy Efficiency Rating (EER) of at least 18; and
• Coefficient of Performance (COP) of at least 3.6
Solar ThermalRebate Amount
• Non-residential: $0.65 per kWh saved
• Non-profit: $1.00 per kWh saved
Eligibility Requirements
• OG-300 certification by the Solar Rating andCertification (SRCC); or
• Energy savings calculated by licensed Delawareprofessional engineers
Application Process
Apply at www.greengrantdelaware.com. Rebates are paid directly to grantee following project completion.
