The Virginia Water Well Association was established in June,
1949. The purposes, as set forth in the Association’s original
Constitution, are as relevant today as they were in 1949:
• To put the water well drilling business in the Commonwealth of
Virginia on a thoroughly scientifi c and businesslike basis;• To
maintain an organization to assist, promote, encourage and support
the interests and welfare of the water well drilling
industry within the Commonwealth of Virginia;• To foster aid and
promote scientifi c education, standards, research and techniques
in order to improve the methods of drilling;• To promote and
encourage harmony and cooperation between the members and
governmental agencies relative to the proper
development and protection of the underground water supplies of
the Commonwealth of Virginia; and,• To advance the mutual interests
of those engaged in the water well industry in their own and the
public welfare.
