He is survived by his beloved wife, Dee, four children, two grand- children and three great grandchil- dren. Joe’s love of bowling started when he helped a stranded motorist who had run out of gas. It just so happened the motorist owned a bowling center and told Joe he could come in and bowl a few games as a thank you. It was 1969 in Houma, Louisiana, when he bowled that first game. He was hooked. Joe and Dee began to bowl regularly and when the Air Force took them to Germany, they served as the men’s and women’s association secretaries. They held the positions for 5 years and were responsible for hosting the Euro- pean Masters Tournaments. By 1981, when Joe took an interest in the TCBA, he had just retired at Barksdale AFB, LA after 28 years of military service. He was elected to the position of Director of Operations and began his 28 years of running the or- ganization he absolutely loved. Under his leadership, the TCBA flourished, expanding to nine states and, at its peak, over 600 teams. He introduced new awards to honor members, such as the Hall of Fame, Secretary of the Year, Sportsmanship, Sponsor of the Year, and Most Valuable Bowler. He also instituted the TCBA champion- ship ring. Note from the editor:

On behalf of my family, I would like to thank the TCBA bowlers for the outpouring of love and support we received after my father’s death. Dad loved the TCBA and it was touching to know the sentiment was returned.

As the TCBA begins a new chapter under new leadership, I know that Dad will be watching from above, cheering us on.

TCBA the most prestigious league around and also the most fun. He met his dearest friends within the TCBA and looked forward to the tour-naments each year when he could mingle with the TCBA bowlers. Joe Cramer laid the foundation of TCBA and it will miss his leadership, his friendship and his endless supply of jokes.
