Dr Gill has considerable experience of working in mental health settings in the NHS in both community and hospital settings. She is the lead for the team at Socrates which provides assessment and intervention for young people with Autistic Spectrum and related conditions. She has particular expertise in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and is accredited as a therapist and supervisor with the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy. Dr Gill is a supervisor and trainer for a post- graduate IAPT CBT course, and provides supervision and training on CBT and various other psychological issues to a variety of services and clinicians. Day One Monday 30th October 2017 10:00am – 4:00pm

The morning of the first session considers engagement skills, working in challenging clinicalenvironments, and safeguarding. The afternoon session will focus on what employers/course providers are looking for and how to promote yourself as effectively as possible.

Day Two Thursday 11th January 2018 10:00am – 4:00pm

The focus of day two is interview skills with the the doctorate course/assistantpsychologist post interview in mind. You will have the chance to have a mock interviewand obtain feedback from experienced clinicians.

Day Three Monday 5th March 2018 10:00am – 4:00pm

This session covers assessment skills which will include both theory and practice atdeveloping assessment skills with children, young people and adults.

Day Four Thursday 3rd May 2018 10:00am – 4:00pm

An introduction to one of the keys skills of a clinical psychologist - integrating informationabout the client's presentation in a way that explains how their symptoms developed andare being maintained. Case studies will be used to give practical experience.

Day Five Monday 2nd July 2018 10:00am - 4:00pm

An introduction to the theory and practice of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Anopportunity to develop clinical skills and theoretical knowledge using an approach that hasbeen shown to be effective across a wide range of clinical presentations.

Day Six Thursday 6th September 2018 10:00am - 4:00pm

The final session focuses on developing skills in the critical analysis of research evidence. Itwill also provide a practical introduction to using psychometrics to assess cognitive ability.

The course can be booked on a day rate of £125 (inc. VAT) or delegates can book all sixdays at a discounted rate of £625 (inc VAT). Fees include refreshments, all training willtake place at our premises in Huddersfield. Please bring your own lunch.
