A Friend of God
JOHN 15 13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for
his friends. 14 Ye are my friends, if ye do
whatsoever I command you. 15 Henceforth I call you not
servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have
called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have
made known unto you.
JAMES 2 23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God,
and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called
the Friend of God.
MATTHEW 10 40 He that receiveth you receiveth
me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.
41 He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a
prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall
receive a righteous man's reward.
EXPECTATION.THE_ BURLINGTON.VT THURSDAY_ 58-0508
E-20 And in this lifetime, if we have a chance to chose right and
wrong, it's back to the same thing like it was in Eden: a man and a woman
given a choice to do right or do wrong. They had two trees before
them. We are taught in the Scripture, one of them was the Tree of Life. The other was a tree of knowledge. Man
chose to eat off the tree of knowledge. And the first time he
ate from that tree, he severed his friendship with God, and he was
made a mortal being.
EXPECTATION.THE_ BURLINGTON.VT THURSDAY_ 58-0508
E-21 And when they left the tree of faith they lost God. Man does not know God by knowledge. Man knows
God by faith, is the only way that man can meet God is on the grounds of
faith. "If thou believest," said our Lord Jesus. Not if you say a decree or
you're baptized such-and-such a way, but "If thou dost believe..."
EXPECTATION.THE_ BURLINGTON.VT THURSDAY_ 58-0508
There's only one sin, and that's the sin of unbelief. Each person in here tonight is possessed, either with faith or unbelief. Your life proves
what you are, by the life you live and the things you do.
I SAMUEL 17 57 And as David returned from the slaughter of the Philistine, Abner took
him, and brought him before Saul with the head of the Philistine in his
hand. 58 And Saul said to him, Whose son [art] thou, [thou] young man?
And David answered, I [am] the son of thy servant Jesse the Bethlehemite.
I SAMUEL 18 1 And it came to pass, when he had
made an end of speaking unto Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the
soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul.
2 And Saul took him that day, and would let him go no more home to his
father's house. 3 Then Jonathan and David made a covenant, because he loved him as
his own soul. 4 And Jonathan stripped himself of the robe that [was] upon him, and gave it to
David, and his garments, even to his sword, and to his bow, and to his girdle.
I SAMUEL 19 1 And Saul spake to Jonathan his son, and to all his servants, that they
should kill David. 2 But Jonathan Saul's son delighted
much in David: and Jonathan told David, saying, Saul my father seeketh to kill thee: now therefore, I pray thee, take heed to thyself until the morning, and
abide in a secret [place], and hide thyself:
I SAMUEL 19 3 And I will go out and stand beside my father in the field where thou [art], and I will commune with my father of
thee; and what I see, that I will tell thee. 4 And Jonathan spake good of David unto Saul his father, and said unto him, Let not the king sin against his servant,
against David; because he hath not sinned against thee, and because his works [have been] to thee-ward very
good:
I SAMUEL 20 3 And David sware moreover, and
said, Thy father certainly knoweth that I have found grace in thine eyes; and he
saith, Let not Jonathan know this, lest he be grieved: but truly [as] the LORD
liveth, and [as] thy soul liveth, [there is] but a step between me and death.
4 Then said Jonathan unto David, Whatsoever thy soul desireth, I will
even do [it] for thee.
I SAMUEL 20 14 And thou shalt not only while yet I live shew me the kindness of the LORD,
that I die not: 15 But [also] thou shalt not cut off thy kindness from my house for ever: no, not when the LORD hath cut off the enemies of David every one from the face of the
earth. 16 So Jonathan made [a covenant]
with the house of David, [saying], Let the LORD even require [it] at the hand of
David's enemies. 17 And Jonathan caused David to
swear again, because he loved him: for he loved him as he loved his own soul.
I SAMUEL 23 15 And David saw that Saul was come out
to seek his life: and David [was] in the wilderness of Ziph in a wood.
16 And Jonathan Saul's son arose, and went to David into the wood, and
strengthened his hand in God. 17 And he said unto him, Fear not: for the
hand of Saul my father shall not find thee; and thou shalt be king over Israel, and I shall be next unto thee; and that also Saul
my father knoweth. 18 And they two made a covenant before the LORD: and David abode in the wood, and
Jonathan went to his house.
II SAMUEL 1 23 Saul and Jonathan [were] lovely and
pleasant in their lives, and in their death they were not divided: they were swifter than
eagles, they were stronger than lions. 24 Ye daughters of Israel, weep over Saul,
who clothed you in scarlet, with [other] delights, who put on ornaments of gold upon
your apparel. 25 How are the mighty fallen in the midst of the battle! O Jonathan, [thou wast] slain in
thine high places. 26 I am distressed for thee, my brother
Jonathan: very pleasant hast thou been unto me: thy love to me was wonderful, passing
the love of women.
WHAT.DOES.THOU.HERE_ JEFF.IN SUNDAY_ 59-0301E
E-15 And you can't buy friendship with money. Friendship is a gift of
God.
QUESTIONS.AND.ANSWERS_ JEFF.IN COD SUNDAY_ 64-0823E
Well now, Jesus said, "Whosoever receive a prophet in the name of a
prophet, receives a prophet's reward." A prophet's reward is to be a friend
with the prophet. Whosoever receives a righteous man in the name
of a righteous man, receives a righteous man's reward. Is that right?
And if they want to know what a prophet's reward is, is to be a friend
to the prophet. See? That's a reward. He's your friend.
QUESTIONS.AND.ANSWERS_ JEFF.IN COD SUNDAY_ 64-0823E
Like the Shunammite woman, it might come in handy some time. See? It did with her. See? Watch God's servants.
FEAST.OF.THE.TRUMPETS_ JEFF.IN V-3 N-16 SUNDAY_ 64-0719M
He remains forever the Word, the Word made manifest. That's
exactly what He declared the prophets. A prophet doesn't only
mean "a seer, a forthteller," it means "a revealer of the Word that's written in his own life." His own works reveals and vindicates the
Word of that day, like Noah building the ark, Moses down there,
whatevermore, then you...?... the promised Word for that hour.
GOD'S.CHOSEN.PLACE.WORSHIP_ JEFF.IN V-5 N-7 SATURDAY_ 65-0220
90 And His promised Word will be interpreted in you by Him. Did
you get that? The Word that He promised to fulfill in the day that
you're living in, you will be a written epistle of God, read of all men. Not
what you claim, but what God does through you will speak out louder than anything you could claim. God said, "These signs shall follow them that believe." That speaks through
you.
IDENTIFIED.CHRIST.OF.ALL.AGES_ BIRMINGHAM.AL THURSDAY_ 64-0409
E-79 It's God manifested in flesh, now in the flesh of His Bride. For the
Bride and the Husband is the same-self flesh. These two are One. And the church is becoming the Bride all the time by believing the Word,
so that the Word and the Church becomes the same, the Word in the Church making it the Bride, the last sign, God identifying Himself, the
Word in the church.
SIRS.WE.WOULD.SEE.JESUS_ DENHAM.SP.LA WEDNESDAY_ 64-0318
E-30 Like, in the beginning, God was not even God. He was the great eternal. And in there was attributes.
Attributes was His thoughts. And then it become a Word like this. And a word expressed... Well, a thought
expressed is a word. A word expressed is a thought. And then,
remember, if you ever was in God's thinking, you'll always be there. If
you've got Eternal Life, you are the expression or the attribute of His
thought for this age.
GOD.WHO.IS.RICH.IN.MERCY_ PHOENIX.AZ V-19 N-2 TUESDAY_ 65-0119
73 God is the Word; It was made flesh and dwelt among us, now, that He might bring forth the other
attributes of God. The body, Jesus, was the body of God, an attribute.
Moses seen Him pass, the back part of Him; no man had seen His face.
But now we seen Him, we have beheld Him, see Him as the Sacrifice. Now, see, He was an attribute of God,
being displayed, the Word. That's what He was.
GOD.WHO.IS.RICH.IN.MERCY_ PHOENIX.AZ V-19 N-2 TUESDAY_ 65-0119
And when any believer comes to God, he becomes God's attribute of His Word; he's used to manifest the Word that's promised for that day. See? That's right. God, rich in mercy, has never left us without a
testimony. He's rich in mercy.
CHRIST.IS.THE.MYSTERY_ JEFF.IN V-3 N-7 SUNDAY_ 63-0728
58-3 But God's great mystery, what the eternal God had as a mystery, has
now been unfolded in Jesus Christ, then was given out down to His
Church. What was once in God's mind is now in the Body of Christ, Jesus making love to the Church, His Bride, whispering secrets to
Her.
CHRIST.IS.THE.MYSTERY_ JEFF.IN V-3 N-7 SUNDAY_ 63-0728
You know how you tell your wife things, you know, the little girl you're going to marry. You love her so much, you just tell her the secrets, and get her up next to you, and love you and everything. You know how it is? That's
what God--Christ is doing to the Church. See? He's letting Her know the secrets--just the secrets. Not
these flirters; I mean His Wife. See?
UNPARDONABLE.SIN_ JEFF.IN V-26 N-8 SUNDAY_ 54-1024
102 I've been through depression. I've been through prosperity. I've seen
it, altogether. But I wouldn't turn loose the hand of Jesus Christ for all the money and the wealth that you could pile on the face of this earth,
and everything else. He's my Friend when I'm broke. He's my Friend
when I got plenty. I love Him when I'm hungry. I love Him when I'm filled. I love Him when I'm in sorrow. I love
Him when I'm happy. I love Him because I love Him, because He first
loved me.
UNPARDONABLE.SIN_ JEFF.IN V-26 N-8 SUNDAY_ 54-1024
When I was sick, laying, dying, He was my Friend. When I'm feeling good tonight, happy, He's still my
Friend When I'm laying yonder, dying somewhere, and my chilly veins
coming up my arms like that, He will be my Friend then. And when these brittle threads that I'm walk--walking
on, breaks, and I plunge out into Eternity, He will be my Friend then.
When the ages roll on, after ten thousand years, you've sung your jubilee songs, He will still by my
Friend then.
UNPARDONABLE.SIN_ JEFF.IN V-26 N-8 SUNDAY_ 54-1024
Yes, sir. When there's no more moon, no more sun, no more earth, He will
still be my Friend then as the ages roll on. Oh, how we ought to
love Him.
UNPARDONABLE.SIN_ JEFF.IN V-26 N-8 SUNDAY_ 54-1024
Who are you to turn your head to God's Word, because--'cause some preacher or somebody else told you that It was for some other day? Who
are you to believe man instead of God? You believe God instead of
man. That's the way to be friends with God.
WHO.IS.THIS_ SAN.JOSE.CA SUNDAY_ 59-1122
E-18 What if Abraham would've took what it looked like, twenty-five years waiting for a promise that God gave him? Why, he'd have never had
the baby. They'd have never--he'd never been the father of little Isaac. But he believed God's Word and
wouldn't turn It loose. But he watered it day and night, strong, giving praise unto God. Oh, when Sarah would say, "Honey, it's been
twenty-five years ago since the promise was made, here I am nearly a
hundred."
WHO.IS.THIS_ SAN.JOSE.CA SUNDAY_ 59-1122
He'd say, "Praise God, we're going to have it anyhow, 'cause God said so, and that settles it." That's right. He
knowed the nature of God because he was a friend of God.
He knowed how to take Him, because he knowed that His promises, no
matter how foolish they looked, or how simple they looked, or how
unreasonable they looked, they were true because God said so, and
that settled it forever.
WHO.IS.THIS_ SAN.JOSE.CA SUNDAY_ 59-1122
That's the way every seed of Abraham does today. That's the way
the borned again Christian does today. No matter what the world says,
what science says, what they say, this, that, or the other, God's Word
stands above it all. And they're looking at His Word and what He said
to be the truth. It doesn't matter if they say today the world can't be burned up, and the dead, or them
bodies can't rise again. God said so, and that's the truth; that settles it
forever. God said so, and we keep our eyes on what He said.
INFALLIBLE.WORD.OF.GOD_ CHICAGO.IL FRIDAY_ 56-0406
E-7 So isn't it wonderful to know that it's all settled. I--I just love it,
don't you? Just that perfect satisfaction, and know that His Spirit
lives in you, bearing record of the resurrected Jesus Christ, and right
living, friendship with Him every day, not trying to live this or that, but Him in you just lives His own
life out, going where he wants you to go, saying what He wants you to say, doing what He wants you to do, that's
the way to live, isn't it?
TRYING.TO.DO.GOD.A.SERVICE_ JEFF.IN V-4 N-8 SUNDAY_ 65-0718M
You see what that does, what it paid off for that man's life to believe that? Saved his little boy. Now,
God had His loyal servants there to--Brother Blair and them--to pray for the little boy when he was in that condition. Yes, when anything happens, remember, you are
children of the living God.
TRYING.TO.DO.GOD.A.SERVICE_ JEFF.IN V-4 N-8 SUNDAY_ 65-0718M
God bless these faithful men too. In a time of emergency that's the time to look to God; and look to Him and
be on friendship with Him before the emergency arrives. We know this: If we have favor with God, we
can ask Him anything, like you would any other friend; and He's
a very present Help in time of trouble.
