The purpose of the words is to help you on standardized test and it strengthens your vocabulary. They are used every single day whether you’re at work or in school. They are being taught for the benefit of you in life, meaning that you will definitely use them later on throughout your life. I think you should learn these words so that way they could also be very beneficial to you as well. The 15 power words are…. Explain, Infer, Analyze, Summarize, Trace, Evaluate, Describe, Trace, Predict, Compare, Contrast, Advise, Formulate, Support, Visualize, Learn these words and I guarantee that they will help you better understand meanings of Tests, Quizzes, and reading materials such as newspapers, magazines, books, or even passages posted on the Internet. For example, use the word Infer in a sentence. The startled boy infers that there was a monster under his bed because of scary noises coming from under it. Or, the bloodshed on the grounds of the crime scene was carefully inferred to be the suspect’s when the victim grabbed a gun and shot him in defense. As you can see, these words are not difficult to use but can be and possibly will be complicated to comprehend in your head. Although they shouldn’t be hard to understand, I do know one way that you can very well understand them. It’s called use context clues. Context clues are always used in every type of text whether it’s a book or novel of any sort.Anyway, context clues would be something great to use in case you’re having a difficult time progressing with these words in a understandable matter.
