Appliance IntroductionsAt Sharp, we want to get to know you—and your appliances. Our initial survey of
your home and appliances helps us determine how to best provide for your propane
needs, but those needs can change. With all the benefits of propane-powered
appliances, we know you might be itching for an upgrade. However, adding
new appliances to your main system can make big changes in the way that your
household uses propane.
Even though many propane appliances are designed to be energy saving, it could
take some adjustments on our end to make sure that you are getting the supply
of propane you need to support them. Adding additional propane-powered
appliances without notifying Sharp can result in interruption of service—something
we can easily avoid with a proper heads up. So make sure to update us with your
appliance information before you hook up that new grill, stove or water heater to
the main propane system, and your service will continue smoothly.
Please call or email us to make sure your appliance info is up-to-date!
Are you ready for winter? Can you feel that chill in the air? It might not be quite cold enough to crank up
the heater just yet, but we’re cranking up the winter preparations here at Sharp.
As we prepare for the propane season, there are a few things that you can do to
help us get ready:
• Maximize energy-efficiency in your home by checking for drafts, insulating
your water heater, and inspecting your HVAC system and filters.
• Limit use of high propane usage appliances, like pool and spa heaters, to
conserve propane and energy in winter months.
• Clear the area around your tank. There may or may not be snow this winter,
but the easier it is for your technician to access your tank, the better.
• Get familiar with your gauge. Learn to recognize when your propane supply is
running low to alert us before your service is interrupted.
And if you’d like to go the extra step in winter preparedness, opt in to Easy Pay
with Complete Care for a predictable monthly bill, even in the winter when your
propane use is higher.

FALL NEWS LETTER
With fur and scales and feathers galore, we stepped out of the office and embraced
our wild side at the Austin Zoo on September 26th. Our “A Day at the Zoo” event
celebrated the warm relationship we have with our longtime commercial client,
the Austin Zoo & Animal Sanctuary, with games, music, giveaways and more.
We showed our appreciation for everything the Zoo does for the community by
giving all patrons two dollars off the price of admission, and the 400+ visitors
that came to our table received some serious swag, including an animal-themed
t-shirt, coloring book and tote bag.
Throughout the day our tank-animal photo boards were a popular spot, and Lucas
Miller, the Singing Zoologist gave a performance that captivated patrons both
young and old. It was a huge success, not to mention a lot of fun. Even now that
the event is over, our propane will continue to work behind the scenes at the Zoo
to keep animals large and small warm in the upcoming winter months and beyond.
We’re looking forward to another warm year with the Austin Zoo, and doing our
part to support their mission to care for and rehabilitate animals in need.
