Brooklyn College is a dynamic institution with more than 85 years history of academic excellence. The College of Staten Island (CSI) is a four-year college offering bachelor’s and associate degrees, as well as master’s, doctoral and advanced certificate programs. CSI is home to a School of Business, School of Education, and School of Health Sciences, as well as The Verrazano School Honors Program, and the Teacher Education Honors Academy. CSI is also a select campus of the Macaulay Honors College. CUNY Baccalaureate for Unique and Interdisciplinary Studies (CUNY BA/BS) is a rigorous, versatile, and rewarding route to a bachelor’s degree for academically talented and motivated students, whose academic goals transcend traditional majors. In collaboration with faculty mentors, students formulate individualized areas of concentration, which have ranged, for example, from Advocacy for the Disabled to Zoological Photography. Established in September 2011, Guttman is the first new community college at CUNY in forty years. With a highly supportive environment focused on student success, Guttman provides a clearly defined program that includes a rigorous first-year experience dedicated to hands-on learning. Located in the heart of Manhattan, overlooking vibrant Bryant Park, Guttman Community College opened its doors to its inaugural class of 300 students in the fall of 2012.

York College

BCC was founded in 1957 to meet the growing need for access to higher education in the Bronx. Today, BCC serves more than 11,500 students from over 100 countries. As the flagship institution for CUNY’s Accelerated Study in Associate Programs (ASAP), qualifying students receive tuition waivers, textbook vouchers and free monthly MetroCards, among other supports. The tree-lined 44-acre campus is a National Historic Landmark where students can excel academically in a vibrant community.

A comprehensive two-year college, Kingsborough offers programs in the liberal arts and sciences as well as career-focused majors. Kingsborough features a breathtaking 70-acre beach campus that overlooks three bodies of water. Kingsborough now offers an A.A.S. Degree in Polysomnographic Technology (Sleep Technology), a quickly growing field. This degree is only offered at two other colleges in New York State.

Hostos Community College

ASAP assists students in earning associate degrees as quickly as possible by providing a range of supports – including comprehensive and personalized advisement, career development, tutoring, waivers for tuition and fees (for students in receipt of financial aid), MTA MetroCards, and textbook vouchers. ASAP also offers special class scheduling options to ensure that ASAP students get the classes they need, are in classes with other ASAP students, and attend classes in convenient blocks of time to accommodate their work schedules. As students approach graduation, they receive special supports to help them transfer to bachelor’s programs or transition into the workforce, depending on their goals.

Search for Education, Elevation, and Knowledge (SEEK) is a program available at 11 of our four-year colleges, and is designed to aid students who are eager to learn, but face financial difficulties and prior academic hurdles. Students will benefit from additional opportunities for needed financial support, as well as one-on-one meetings with an assigned counselor who will work with them to provide comprehensive academic support throughout their time at our four-year schools. Because of these great benefits, SEEK students have a higher retention and graduation rate compared to their peers.

College Discovery (CD) is designed to help students from lower income families who struggled during high school. CD offers comprehensive support through counseling and financial aid at six community colleges. The success of the program is time tested and proven by the higher retention and graduation rates for participating students when compared to their peers. CUNY CD students may also apply to the SEEK program, upon transferring to a CUNY four-year college.
