ONCE UPON A TIME… There were three bears who lived in a house in the forest. There was a big father bear, a middle-sized mother bear and a tiny baby bear.

One morning, their breakfast porridge was too hot to eat. So, the bears went for a walk in the forest. While they were out, a young girl named Goldilocks stumbled upon their house. She knocked on the door, and when there was no answer, she pushed open the latch and went inside.

DIRTY DISHES,

WASTED WISHESFacing the kitchen table, Goldilocks saw three bowls of porridge: a large bowl, a middle-sized bowl and a small bowl.

Her stomach was growling, and she longed for something to eat. Yet, she didn’t feel that any of the bowls were “just right” for her.

Venturing to the cupboard, she reached into the shelf and pulled out a stack of dishes. After finding the right fit, she saw that the bowl was stained and smudged. Examining the other dishes, she found that every one of them was smeared with some type of film.

The young girl desperately wanted to wash her hands. Turning on the tap water, she realized that the water wasn’t turning hot. Even worse, the soap in her hands would not lather. After exerting some energy to clean her hands, she began to feel parched. She scooped some tap water into her hands and took a nice, big gulp. But, much to her disdain, the water had a bitter, metallic taste.

AN ITCH IN THE

STITCHDiscouraged, Goldilocks began to explore the rest of the house.

She went upstairs, and came across three beds: a big bed, a middle-sized bed and a tiny bed. Eyeing the tiny bed, Goldilocks pondered that perhaps a nap would ease her hunger pains.

But, there was just one problem. Hoping to look nice for Grandmother, Goldilocks had put on her best dress that morning, and she didn’t want to wrinkle her dress as she slept. Walking to the closet, she pushed aside a large pajama gown, and then a smaller one next to it. Pulling out the tiniest gown, she breathed a sigh of relief and changed into the pajamas.

Pacing toward the tiny bed, Goldilocks suddenly felt an itch. She scratched it away, but the itch was quickly replaced with another one, and then another one. Frustrated, Goldilocks knew that she could never fall asleep in such discomfort.

BEARSuddenly, the front door opened, and Goldilocks could hear the sound of paws pounding below.

From upstairs, she heard a loud, booming voice say, “Somebody has touched my porridge.”

The young girl quickly ran downstairs. Coming face-to-face with three bears, Goldilocks wasn’t phased in the slightest. Stomping to the front door, she turned around, faced the three bears, and said, “I would have never expected a home of bears to be so unBEARable.”

Goldilocks strutted down the front porch steps, gave one last look of disdain and stomped into the forest—and the three bears never saw her again.

LESSONS LEARNEDWith every story, there is a lesson—in this case, you could say it’s the immorality of trespassing.
