The great Syrian revolution didn’t erupt suddenly. The Syrian revolution exploded after many connotations that have been accumulating through the years in an unhealthy political environment that started with Assad the father stealing the rein of power.- The Constitution Uprising in the seventies then the events of the eighties were a form of the people’s refusal of the power monopolizing of Assad.- The Damascus Spring and the political demands associated with it didn’t last long in the face of the regime’s oppression. It ended in 2001.-The Kurds’ uprising in 2004 had a great momentum in its expression of objection to injustice and demanding the least civil rights. It was also faced with the harshest forms of oppression.- The arrest campaigns against bloggers between 2005-2006, created a sense of outrage in circles that were hoping for a margin of political and cultural freedom under the regime.- The al-Hareeka protest in Damascus on the 17th of February 2011 with its symbolic attribution challenged the regime in its center of power. The Syrians chanted “the Syrian people won’t be humiliated”.- On the fifteenth of March 2011 there was a call for a protest in the Hamidiyeh historic area in old Damascus. The bravest young men and women from all sects and regions came out to call on the regime to step down sending their hidden message in the chant “God, Syria and freedom only”. A lot of revolutionaries got arrested that day.- The mothers of the prisoners of conscious sit-in the next day near the Ministry of Interior Affairs. The silent sit-in in front of the Libyan Embassy and the arrest of the participating activists. These activists were supporting the right of other people to achieve freedom and justice.- On the eighteenth of March, the day the first dignity martyr was killed in Daraa. After that thousands of Daraa residents took out to the streets in a big revolution of dignity, protesting the crimes of the regime against humanity which stopped at nothing to respond using the cruelest of methods, even barbarically torturing the kids of Daraa. That day had a symbolic effect. It was the day that drew the attention of the world to the Syrian people and their struggle. It is a day that will be forever embedded in the history books of revolutions. It was the explosion that so many debated that it could ever happen. The Syrian revolution never seized to be almost completely peaceful for the first six months. It didn’t use arms or counter violence. It depended on all civil resistance methods and nonviolent protests. The violent machine of the regime was countered with demonstrations and a wide spectrum

of nonviolent activism. The Syrian people were creative and came up with novel approaches, which they implemented down to their tiniest detail details, to convey their message and situation to the other Syrians, to the regime and to the rest of the world, all in the hope that someone will understand their circumstances and demands. However, the persistence of excessive violence, which everybody knows about, lead to unavoidable consequences and arms appeared on the scene and the Free Army was established to defend the civilians. There was an escalation in violence, and mistakes from the opposition itself started to appear. However all these developments occurred while the world›s states and public opinion was silent towards what was happening in Syria, as well as the failure of the UN to fulfill its obligation towards the Syrian

Blue will be used as the defining colour of this day in reference to the colour used in the UN’s logo as a reminder of its role to protect human rights and defend the freedom of humans. The Syrian people felt betrayed. International conventions and treaties which were put in place to defend human rights were all but ignored in the face of the economic and political inter-ests of the world’s powers. The Syrian people felt that these treaties are nothing put pieces of paper which are taken out of the drawer or hidden according to the wishes of those powers. Meanwhile, international humanitarian organisations have abandoned their true mission un-der political and logistic pressures to become unjustifiably silent and almost obsolete towards what is happening in Syria. The martyrs, detainees, refugees, displaced and homeless of the Syrian people have become nothing but numbers that are collected by these organisation at the end of each day, without working on any real solution or playing a significant role to stop the bloodbath and cycle of destruction. On this day we want to send our message as human beings directly to our fellow human beings bypassing governments, politics, statements, and empty promises and condemnations. We scream out to all of humanity to move and respond to our tragedy and stand besides us as one against injustice, indignity, and cheap death, to support us in our revolution, the revolution of a human being for life.

Didn’t you get satisfied from our blood yet ….But where now??!!Red color will be the identity of this day as a symbol of the bloodshed was flown and still by the regime along the map of the country for the long last two years Since the regime has preoccupied the rule lots of Syrian country lands were exceeded, and the right of our people in “Jolan” of having the Syrian Identity was specified. It was quite on the Israeli Occupation and even on Its attacks convinced with his right in response. And it seizured the people freedom monopolizing the politics and govern-ment organizations. And people who disagree with the approach with what is called “ The Revolution of The Eighth Of March were its dissents “ With the revolution’s outbreak, sectarianism was the most awful aspect. The regime works hard on it the last two years us-ing its rude publication, and Its ugly pursuit by dividing the country and segmenting it into fighting parts based on pre-civil bases like Sunni, Alawite, Shia, Ismaili, Cristian, and Expiatory etc... . And associating the peace of the Syrian minorities with its persistence, ending in hinting of a war that threatens the whole region and redistributes the politician and demographic map in case of its fallSince the beginning of the mobility the regime has relied on tyrannize arrests and shotgun absences for all those who tried to involve in the revolution of dignity. And purged the peaceful civil mobility brutally facing it with strategies of killing. As the voices asking for freedom become louder and louder it started bombarding vandalizing, detonating organizations, and destroying infrastructure. Pushing the Syrian people to decampment and asking asylum for living. Draining all the country resources and putting them in the service of the purge machine, implementing the quote that says : “ Al assad or we burn the country “ This day comes to record the regime practices along the last two years, smoking it out in front of those who still support-ing it asking them a question: “Where now ??!! When will you have the courage to admit our right in our revolution. The Human Being Revolution for Life ??!!”

Yellow will be the identifying colour of this day in references to the political opposition and the Free ArmySince Assad assumed power in Syria, the civil society was denied political and even civil participation as well as the ability to partake and organise itself in institutions. The Syrian people were forcibly denied from participating in the decision making process and from expressing their opinion. In 2011 the revolution of dignity was ignited. Many of its heroes were children who wrote on walls. A revolutionary move-ment was started, led by youth who demanded freedom and social justice. Events moved quickly and as their demands increased the traditional opposition tried to catch up with the revolution. However they too were met with suppression, oppression and even were … by the regime. The traditional opposition failed to come up with a clear political agenda that lives up to its responsibility in leading the revolution and achieving a political solution. This political flounder by the opposi-tion, in addition to the sheer violence of the regime and its (ab) use of the army and defence force to kill the people lead many soldiers to defect from the ranks of the regime’s army and form militias in the rebeling areas in an attempt to protect the civilians and peaceful demonstrations. These militias formed the core of the “Free Syrian Army” which took upon itself managing everyday life in the liberated areas alongside the revolutionary local councils. The chaos that accompanied the lack of any unanimously agreed upon political solution and the spread of arms and armament and the militarisation of the revolution, gave the regime a green light from the international community to continue on relentlessly with its killing and destruction. As this days passes, two years after the start of the revolution and with the terrible destruction and wounds of Syria, the opposition parties should remember the fundamental goal and demands of the revolution. We ask them to work hand in hand with all revolutionary groups and youth movements to arrive at a political solution to end the crises and stand against the regime and its supporters and radical groups alien to the revolution, to reclaim the country from Assad’s rule and return it to its rightful owners who have taken to the streets in a Human Being Revolution for Life

Green will be the symbolic colour for this day in reference to the colour of spring, the colour of rejuvenation and …On this day we salute each and every defiant patriot in our homeland. We send a salute to the free martyrs and pray for the wounded, the detainees, the missing, the homeless and the exiled. No matter how hard we try we can’t express our gratitude to the Syrian people, those people who, from the depth of sub-jugation and injustice, have revolted demanding dignity, freedom and justice. That great people that has faced the most horrendous of killing machined yet insistently on continuing to live and strive towards their goals.A people that can’t be humiliated. A creative people, a generous people who has a dream and will topple the regime and build their state, the state they demanded from the plains of Horan in the south and cried for its freedom, its Azaki, in Qamishli in the northeast. A people despite their martyrs, their wounded, their detainees and missing sons and daughters, their displaced and refu-gees, and despite all the destruction that surrounds them, decided to cling to life even though they don’t posses its most fundamentals, They decided to continue on.A people who used all peaceful methods and were creative and excelled in nonviolent resistance.A people who sacrificed their lives and stared at death using the simplest means of resistance.
