QUT’s Research Data Storage Solutions A Launchpad for Research Journeys A Platform for Ongoing Improvements to QUT’s Research Data Management For the past year, QUT has been delivering a new, comprehensive research data service for researchers. By understanding the characteristics of research data, and the long-term need to store this data QUT has provided an invaluable resource to researchers supporting QUT’s goal to become a research intensive university. Key to successful delivery is the focus upon the researchers and the collaboration between providers of research data management services including Information Technology Services, High Performance Computing & Research Support, and Library. “… it has been wonderfully refreshing to join QUT, and be set up immediately with some appropriate digital space to do undertake some large-scale research, after consultations with [a Research analyst] about my research needs and aspirations. This has been most impressive on a number of levels. Great to be working in an institution, which takes IT infrastructure and services seriously!” Research Analysts Providing researchers timely assistance navigating storage options and advising on data management practices and bespoke solutions. “Thanks! QUT’s Research Data Storage Solutions A Launchpad for Research Journeys

A Platform for Ongoing Improvements to QUT’s Research Data Management For the past year, QUT has been delivering a new, comprehensive research data service for researchers. By

understanding the characteristics of research data, and the long-term need to store this data QUT has provided an invaluable resource to researchers supporting QUT’s goal to become a research intensive university.

Great to be working in an institution, which takes IT infrastructure and services seriously!”

New Service Uptake: RDSS has been operating for 1 year. Uptake in data size and number of researchers started slowly but has grown quickly. Two keys drivers have been new projects, and exhaustion of traditional faculty storage.
