“By the end of 18th century, King Rama V had ordered the construction of many roads, including Yaowarat Road. The meaning of it is said to resemble a dragon’s curve body, making it an auspicious location for business.”

“Yaowarat Road is an old business center where there are many Chinese people lived in. There are still Chinese life-style and culture there.” 

“During the Vegetarian Festival, Most shops were all over with yellow vegetarian flags the Por-Tek-Tung Association also gave out foods for people. So many people queuing up in a long line.”

“There are many kinds of people who come to Yaowarat. Some people come straight ahead to eat delicious food with their friends or family but some may come to work.”

“There are many small streets and alleys full of shops and vendors selling all types of goods.”

“Yaowarat Road is famous for varieties of delicious foods and become ‘food street’ in the night.”
