2014 – A Wild Ride So Far• Vehicle manufacturers already have recalled more vehicles in 2014 than

any other year in history. • The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports there have been

recalls for 37.5 million cars this year in the U.S. • So far this year, General Motors has recalled a total of 15.6 million vehicles

worldwide.• General Motors has already recalled more cars and trucks in the U.S. this

year than it has sold in the last five years.• In March Enterprise, Hertz, and Avis committed to help GM provide loaners

to the nearly 1.4 million owners of vehicles recalled for ignition-switch problems.

• EFFECT ON HERTZ– 98,000 vehicles recalled from our fleet this year– Grounded Fleet (not rentable) – 2% of our fleet last month

The Insurance Replacement Effect• IR is a $16B market• Strategically, Hertz entered this market 8 years ago• Biggest win to date – State Farm names Hertz primary June 2014 –• State Farm is $450M Account – compared to largest corp accounts at $80M• Volume is 30% higher than anticipated
