A message from our
Grand Knight
April was a busy month and so will be May. I want
to thank every Knight and many family members
who made our Tootsie Roll Drive a great success. We
had 76 volunteers (69 who were Knights) and spent
200 man hours. We collected $5,369.23 of which
80% was given to organizations helping the mentally
disabled here in Livingston County and 20% went to
the State who supports organizations like Special
Olympics. We sent equal parts to Special Ministries,
Special Olympics (Area 27), St. Francis on the Lake,
Arc of Livingston, and the St. Louis Center.
We are having a District wide retreat on Saturday,
May 16th
starting with the 8am Mass at St. Patrick’s.
Please sign up now. This is a very important event in
our lives as a follower of Christ.
We have mailed a special version of our newsletter
to all those Knights who have no email or internet
access. We will continue to do this with the kind
donation of Ralph LeRoy who is printing the
newsletter for us in this special format. Please let
me know if you hear of any Knight in distress. It
causes me great distress when I have to send out
nine notices of suspension because these men see
no value in staying a Knight in our Council. Please
reach out to your fellow Knights.
May is the month designated to hold nomination
meetings for the officers for next year. So, during
our first business meeting of May, we will have
Deacon Dave talk to us about his work in Prison
Ministry, and the first meeting of nominations.
Brother Robert Keller, PGK, has once again
volunteered to manage the raffle tickets for the
Parish Festival. Please lend him a hand on Tuesday
mornings after the 8:00 am Mass during the month
of May. Last year we had enough help and we were
done in one hour.
Thank you to all the Knights who have supported this
year’s officers. I hope you have seen progress in
fulfilling our mission of Charity, Unity, and Fraternity.
Please pray that we will improve next year.

THE MONTH OF MARY Blooming flowers and singing birds
Hail the month of May; The springing leaves and sunshine
Fairest tributes pay. Every little bright-winged bird
Its sweet story sings; Every flower and blossom
Richest perfume flings. And every leaf upon the trees,
Every dewdrop fair, Every whisper, hushed, and still,
Of sweet summer air, Tells the same soft pleading story
To Mary, full of grace - How her children so far from her,
Long to see her face. Anonymous The Catholic Record. Volume 5. May 187
