A message from the Principal:
Dear Parents,
I am really happy with how everyone has settled into the
school year. Our classrooms are all working well and students are engaged in their
learning.
Hats and Uniform
I would like to remind all parents that it is essential that all students wear their hats in
term 1 and term 4. I also want to remind everyone that it is expected that all students
wear their school uniform. Our uniform is blue and gold and I have noticed that some
older students have been wearing variations to our uniform. This is not fair to all of the
students who do the right thing everyday and must cease immediately.
Stranger Danger
I would like to remind all parents that if you see anything unusual in or around the
school please contact the office immediately. If you see a stranger hanging around out-
side the school please do not hesitate to call the school or the police. I strive to give
this reminder at the start of each school year as student safety is always paramount.
Open Classrooms
Our school open classroom afternoon will take place this Wednesday from 4.00 to
5.00. This is a great opportunity to see your child’s classroom, meet the teacher and
have a look at all of our specialist classrooms. The afternoon is for students in Grade 1-
6. The prep students will have an open classroom/ picnic on March 7th. Further details
will go home to parents soon.
Student Interactions
I would like to remind everyone that it is essential that parents do not approach other
children to try and solve disputes. It is the role of the school to do this and the waters
become murky when parents get involved in friendship issues.
Easter Raffle
Our fundraising team are beginning planning for the Easter Raffle. It would be greatly
appreciated if parents could please donate an Easter egg to the school to help make up
the hampers. Please drop off eggs to Colleen in the office. We would also appreciate
any parent volunteers who would like to help this year. Please see me at any time.
Kind Regards, Chris

Speech Therapy with Marina
Language is fundamental to your child’s development. To help
develop your child’s language:
Talk to your child about the things that they like
Use a range of words to describe your environment and
what is happening around you
Name items around the house and talking about how they
are used
Take turns when talking and playing
Use picture to retell or make up stories

That Was Summer
Remember when I walked along the soft warm
sand wriggling through my toes. That was sum-
mer.
Remember the sweat dripping down my fore-
head. That was summer.
Remember the lovely blue sunny skies. That was
summer.
Remember the lemon sorbet ice cream that melt-
ed all over my finger. That was summer.
Remember the crashing waves hitting my chest.
That was summer.
Remember when I got burned to smithereens.
That was summer.

Remember When
Remember when we jumped into the dark depths of my
neighbour’s pool.
That was summer
Remember when the water balloons exploded on my body
over and over again.
That was summer
Remember when we had milkshakes while watching the
crescent moon.
That was summer
Remember when I left the depths of the beach with sunburn
worse than the sun.
That was summer
Remember when I played games with my friends and family.
That was summer

That was summer
Remember when we were relaxing on the soft sand and
hearing the crashing waves. That was summer.
Remember when we ate the cold soft chocolate dripping
ice cream. That was summer.
Remember when we watched an action movie with the
buttery popcorn. That was summer.
Remember when we sat on the soft and silky grass at the
massive park. That was summer.
Remember when we swam in the cold and crystal clear
water. That was summer.
From Romeo 6 DC
That was summer
Remember when the water dropped like rain onto our
heads,
That was summer.
Remember when the music of childhood was heard and fam-
ilies bought a soft ice cream,
That was summer.
Remember when the sand was beneath our feet and the
crashing waves was heard,
That was summer.
Remember when the bright yellow sun shone onto our face,
That was summer.
Remember when the waves were holding the surfers as they
surfed left and right,
That was summer.
