Employees of The Tinplate Company of India Limited (TCIL) actively participated in ‘Run for Unity’ organised on October 31, 2017. As a tribute to the ‘Iron Man of India’ Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, over 10,000 participated in the ‘Run for Unity’ in Jamshedpur. The hour-long run was flagged off by State Food and Civil Supply Minister Mr Saryu Roy near Bistupur Postal Park at 7 am in the presence of Jamshedpur MP Mr Bidyut Baran Mahto. East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Mr Amit Kumar, East Singhbhum SSP Mr Anoop T. Mathew and host of other dignitaries saw the participants running on the Bistupur

CHP TRAINEES HONOURED AT CONVOCATION CEREMONY
The Tinplate Company India Limited (TCIL) bagged second prize in the 16th Supervisory Skills Competition organised by Confederation of Indian Industries at Kolkata. Team comprising M/s. Anant N Padhi, MSBBM Krishna and Manash K Mahanty bagged second position in repair & maintenance category. The team was recognised at a function organised in Ranchi on October 31, 2017.

In view of the ever-growing demand in the health sector for semi-nursing staff, TCIL introduced Community Health Provider Training at Tinplate Hospital exclusively for the girls from AA community. The duration of the training is for two years, in the first year it covers Primary Training
and in the second year, on the basis of merit, candidates are chosen for Advance Training. The objective of this training programme is to make these girls employable in health care services, thus making them self-dependent and also fulfilling the societal need for trained workforce.

GANDHI JAYANTI INVOKES ZEAL TO CREATE INCLUSIVE SOCIETY
FOOTBALLERS HAVE A BALL OF A GAMEThe cheer was deafening as budding footballers dribbled the ball while heading towards the goalpost. To generate greater interest for sports, TCIL organised the Tinplate Sports League (Football Tournament) at Tinplate Sports Complex from October 24 to 26, 2017. The tournament was organised to promote excellence in the game of football, which requires very little equipment but an overwhelming amount of skill and stamina.
Dr S K Mitra, Eye Specialist of Tinplate Hospital made presentation on his technique of tackling complicated Cataract with Phacoemulsification at the 31st Annual Eastern India Zonal Ophthalmological Conference held at IIT-ISM Dhanbad from October 6 to 8 2017. He also delivered a didactic lecture on Robotic ZEPTO Cataract Surgery with Precision Pulse Technology. Dr Mitra is the pioneer and first to start ZEPTO Cataract Surgery with Robotic precision in Jharkhand and eastern India.
To mark the birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi a function was organised at Harijan Bustee in No.10 Bustee to reinforce the message that in order to progress and develop, society must be inclusive. Present to support this effort were Mr Tarun Daga, Managing Director, TCIL and Mr R N
Murthy, Executive Director, TCIL. They urged the youth to spearhead the movement to make society truly inclusive, based on the ideals and guidance given by Mahatma Gandhi. The mukhiya of the bustee thanked Mr Daga and TCIL for its constant support and the amenities provided to its residents.
