Everything in a nutshell!
Our app, aNYvolunteer, is here to help students from middle school to high school with finding volunteering opportunities.
App Overview
The target audience is middle school to high school students
Search capabilities include location, age requirements, hours of availability, and type of community service
App documents and automates service completion reporting process
Can maybe add student reviews of community service opportunities they have done
Market Need
Many students have to fulfill community service requirements Students usually have real preferences on what they want to do Non-profits and businesses also have trouble finding volunteers
How to Market App
We reach schools who reach students and will help us in spreading news of our services.
We can present our ideas to different businesses and our app will provide volunteers for their events.
360 communication plan which includes digital channels (emails, e-newsletters, bulletin boards, flyers, and bookmark) and social channels (Facebook, sms, and group texts).
Potential Competition
www.nycares.org is for adult volunteers
www.nycservice.org is also for adults and not easily searchable
OppGuide has an app similar to our idea but it has no presence in New York and doesn’t seem very active
