The predictable, standardized system of placement will clearly show a significant reduction in both time and effort when placing posterior composite restorations. Additional topics covered include: • Where indicated - assuring success • Matricing - achieving proper contacts every time • Understanding adhesives and adhesion • Total adaptation, total fill - in seconds • Finishing and polishing - minimized Dr. Parag Kachalia is the Director of New Technologies, Course Director for Fixed Prosthodontics and is a team leader within the University of the Pacific’s prestigious complex and esthetic rehabilitation program. He is a fellow of the American Dental Education Association’s leadership institute, researcher, as well as a published author in the areas of digital dental photography, digital fixed prosthodontics, and financial management. He has lectured internationally in the areas of adhesive dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, photography, CAD/CAM technology, fixed prosthodontics, new concepts within local anesthesia and diagnostic technologies. Dr. Kachalia acts as a consultant for many dental materials/dental technology companies and helps guide product development. Dr. Kachalia is a member of the Pride Technology Leadership Council and is frequently interviewed in regards to his vision of dentistry’s future. Throughout his time in academia he has maintained a private practice geared toward restorative dentistry with his wife and fellow Pacific alum Dr. Charity Duncan. He believes his continual involvement in providing patient care as well as a role in academia has given him a unique balance that allows him to blend the best of both worlds.
