Remember to continuously check our school district’s webpage for the most current and up-to-date information throughout the summer. https://hillsboroughschools.org Now that the school year is almost over and you are making plans for some rest and relaxation, don’t let the “summer slide” impact your child. The summer slide is when students lose months of academic gains during the break. This is especially true for our English Language Learners. Some educators and parents believe that our ELL students have a deeper learning loss during the summer than native-English speakers, most likely due to less practice when they’re on break. The good news is that the summer slide may be avoided with extra practice during the summer. Now that the schoolyear is almost overand you are making plans for some rest

and relaxation, don’t let the “summer slide” impact your child.

I have attached some suggested activities to help you encourage your child to continue to practice and learn during this summer.
