Night at the Pequot Museum What to Bring

Necessities• Sleeping bag, pillow, and pad. The Gathering Space has a cold, hard terrazzo floor. All your gear

should be clearly labeled with your name or group name. • Flashlight — this is required for some of the evening activities.• Comfortable clothes and sneakers. Sneakers are required for the outdoor activities and must be

worn while indoors.• Toothbrush, toothpaste, washcloth, deodorant, and other essential personal products. Washrooms

are available but no shower facilities.

Optional Items• Bug spray is highly recommended for the outdoor evening activities.• Air mattresses are allowed. Please refrain from bringing double, queen, or king size mattresses as

space is limited and large mattresses can block walkways and emergency exits. You may be asked to move your bedding if necessary for safety reasons.

• Small cot.• Water bottle for use in the Gathering Space.• Eye masks, if needed because not all lights can be turned off in the Gathering Space due to safety

reasons, and earplugs if groups next to you may be talking or snoring during the night.• Additional group snacks and beverages which must remain in the Gathering Space. No food or

drinks are allowed in the exhibits at any time. There is no opportunity to purchase additional food or drink during the night.

• Cameras to capture your overnight memories. Cell phones may be used as cameras only. Participants should not use cell phones for other purposes as we want participants to be fully engaged in the programs without distraction. Adult Chaperones may have cell phones for emergency purposes.

Absolutely Do Not Bring• Additional electronic equipment like games, tablets, iPods, toys, etc.• Any item that can cause any type of spark and/or fire: lighters, matches, candles, lanterns, hair

dryers, curling irons, etc.• Tents or alarm clocks.• Weapons of any kind, alcohol, illegal substances, or anything that could be considered one or

more of these objects — if it is in question, do not bring it.
