In preparing to receive the Lord’s Supper we confess: 1.) I believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is my personal Savior. 2.) I confess my sins to God with sincere repentance and desire to receive His forgiveness. 3.) I believe that in this meal I am receiving the true body and blood of Jesus Christ together with the bread and wine. 4.) I desire for the Holy Spirit to work in my life to strengthen my faith and Christian witness. Guests who are

unfamiliar with the practice of receiving the Lord’s Supper or who have not been instructed in the Lutheran faith are asked to speak to the pastor before communing. Those who come forward but who are not receiving the Lord’s Supper, such as small children, are asked to cross their arms over their chest to receive a blessing. The cups in the center of the communion tray contain white grape juice and are reserved for those who are not able to receive wine for dietary or other restrictions. All who receive the Lord’s Supper are asked to fill out the “Communication sheet” in the bulletin and register your attendance at Communion by circling your name on the card.

(Please help us in idenfying those taking communion from the pews by raising

your hand as the Communion Team approaches the congregaon. Thank you.)

Processional Hymn Title: "How Firm A Foundation" arranged by John E. Coates Stan-

zas:1-4

How firm a foundation, ye saints of the Lord, Is laid for your faith in His excellent

Word!

What more can He say than to you He hath said, To you who for refuge to Jesus have

fled?

Fear not! I am with thee; O be not dismayed, For I am thy God and will still give thee

aid.

I'll strengthen thee, help thee, and cause thee to stand, Upheld by My righteous, omnipo-

tent hand.

When through fiery trials Thy pathway shall lie, My grace, all sufficient, shall be thy

supply.

The flame shall not hurt thee; I only design Thy dross to consume and they gold to re-

fine.

The soul that on Jesus hath leaned for repose; I will not, I will not desert to his foes.

That soul, though all hell should endeavor to shake, I'll never, no never, no never for

sake!

That soul, though all hell should endeavor to shake, I'll never, no never, no never for

sake!

Invocation: Leader: PR

LEADER: In the name of the Father and of the + Son and of the Holy Spirit.

PEOPLE: Amen.

Confession Leader: PR

LEADER: If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

PEOPLE: But if we confess our sins, God, who is faithful and just, will forgive our sins

and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

(Silence for reflection on God's Word and for self-examination.)

LEADER: Let us then confess our sins to God our Father.

PEOPLE: Most merciful God, we confess that we are by nature sinful and unclean. We

have sinned against You in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done and by what

we have left undone. We have not loved You with our whole heart; we have not loved

our neighbors as ourselves. We justly deserve Your present and eternal punishment. For

the sake of Your Son, Jesus Christ, have mercy on us. Forgive us, renew us, and lead us,

so that we may delight in Your will and walk in Your ways to the glory of Your holy

name. Amen.

Absolution Leader: PR

LEADER: Almighty God in His mercy has given His Son to die for you and for His

sake forgives you all your sins. As a called and ordained servant of Christ, and by His

authority, I therefore forgive you all your sins in the name of the Father and of the + Son

and of the Holy Spirit.

PEOPLE: Amen.

Sharing the Peace - (Special Slide) Leader: PR

Having confessed our sins and heard God’s forgiveness, let us greet one another in these

words, “Peace be with you.”

Hymn of Praise LSB 155 This is the Feast

REFRAIN: This is the feast of victory for our God. Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.

Worthy is Christ, the Lamb who was slain, Whose blood set us free to be people of God.

(Refrain)

Power, riches, wisdom and strength, And honor, blessing, and glory are His. (Refrain)

Sing with all the people of God, And join in the hymn of all creation:

Blessing, honor, glory, and might Be to God and the Lamb forever. Amen. (Refrain)

For the Lamb who was slain has begun His reign. Alleluia. (Refrain)

Salutation and Collect of the Day: pg.156 Leader: PR (SUNG)

LEADER: The Lord be with you.

PEOPLE: And also with you.

LEADER: Let us pray. O God, You have commanded us to love You above all things

and our neighbors as ourselves. Grant us the Spirit to think and do what is pleasing in

Your sight, that our faith in You may never waver and our love for one another may not

falter; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the

Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

PEOPLE: Amen.

First Reading Text: Rev. 14:6-7 ESV p. 1036

Reader: Larry Cook

[6] Then I saw another angel flying directly overhead, with an eternal gospel to proclaim

to those who dwell on earth, to every nation and tribe and language and people. [7] And

he said with a loud voice, "Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judg-

ment has come, and worship him who made heaven and earth, the sea and the springs of

water." ...This is the Word of the Lord.

PEOPLE: Thanks be to God.

Special Music: Title: "It May Be At Morn" Music by: Hmong Choir

Epistle Text: Romans 3:19-28 ESV p. 941

Reader: Larry Cook

[19] Now we know that whatever the law says it speaks to those who are under the law,

so that every mouth may be stopped, and the whole world may be held accountable to

God. [20] For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight, since

through the law comes knowledge of sin. [21] But now the righteousness of God has

been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to

it— [22] the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For

there is no distinction: [23] for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, [24]

and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,

[25] whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This

was to show God's righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over

former sins. [26] It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be

just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus. [27] Then what becomes of our

boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? By a law of works? No, but by the law of

faith. [28] For we hold that one is justified by faith apart from works of the law. ...This

is the Word of the Lord.

PEOPLE: Thanks be to God.

Alleluia and Verse pg.156

ALL: Alleluia, Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. Alleluia,

alleluia.

[31] So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in him, "If you abide in my word, you

are truly my disciples, [32] and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you

free." [33] They answered him, "We are offspring of Abraham and have never been en-

slaved to anyone. How is it that you say, 'You will become free'?" [34] Jesus answered

them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin. [35] The

slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. [36] So if the Son

sets you free, you will be free indeed.

Confession of Faith: Apostles Creed Leader: PA

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, And in Jesus Christ,

his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary,

suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into

hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the

right hand of God the Father Almighty. From thence he will come to judge the living

and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of

saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.

Amen.

Closing Hymn Title: "A Mighty Fortress is Our God"

Promise Keepers Version Using lyrics from LSB 657 Short Intro( - Full Organ)

A mighty fortress is our God, a bulwark never failing,

Our helper He amid the flood, Of mortal ills prevailing

For still our ancient foe doth seek to work us woe,

His craft and power are great and armed with cruel hate

On earth is not his equal.

Short Interlude( - Praise Band picks up the pace)

Did we in our own strength confide, Our striving would be losing

Were not the right man on our side, The man of God's own choosing

Dost ask who that may be, Christ Jesus it is He

Lord Sabbaoth His name from age to age the same

And He must win the battle.

And though this world with devils filled Should threaten to undo us

We will not fear for God hath willed His truth to triumph through us.

The prince of darkness grim we tremble not for him

His rage we can endure for lo his doom is sure

One little word shall fell him.

Rif - A mighty fortress, A mighty fortress is our God.

A mighty fortress, A mighty fortress is our God.

That word above all earthly pow'rs No thanks to them abideth

The Spirit and the gifts are ours Through Him who with us sideth

Let goods and kindred go this mortal life also

The body they may kill God's truth abideth still

His kingdom is forever.
